Monday's Injury Updates - Howard, Laich, Hamonic...
The injury to Jimmy Howard is a little more serious than they first let on. Originally it was that he was out for at least two games with a broken finger but now it's sounds like something closer to 4-6 weeks... this stings. What are the Wings to do?
This could be serious... Brooks Laich left that game and the arena in a world of hurt with a suspected knee injury.
Tyler Kennedy left last night's game with a foot/ankle injury... he'll be re-evaluated today.
Travis Hamonic is out for two weeks with facial injuries after a puck to the face on Saturday.
Going one better was Dmitri Orlov as he took pucks to the face in back-to-back games this weekend, one breaking his nose and the other causing him to cry so much that he couldn't return to the game. The team says he should be fine for the Caps next game.
Henrik Karlsson (knee) is heading to the AHL on a conditioning stint for up to two weeks. Leland Irving will keep his seat on the bench warm.
Danny Briere has been participating in contact drills in practice and is hopeful to return on Tuesday after missing the past six games due to a concussion.
Adam Henrique returned yesterday from the injured list.

Damn, how did I miss the Hamonic injury. I have him in my Util slot for FHS Beta League this week. His hits and blocks have handed me those categories a couple of times. $%^^%%$#!!
And this after I’ve actually crept up to 4th in league standings. Curses!
Just to confirm, relegation/demotion will be based entirely on playoff results though, right?
yup, it’s all going to come down to the randomness of a weekly head-to-head matchup. The 3rd place game has never meant so much!

At least it looks like I’ll get the bye and only need one win in the final two weeks to move up. With my luck I won’t get it, though. This Howard news doesn’t help much.
