Elliott or Bachman

Well, along with other roster move considerations, I am having some goalie thoughts. My current goalie squad is made up of Price, Lehtonen and Elliott. Elliott has only played 3 games this calender year, I believe. Sources seem to indicate that Dallas will lean a little more upon Richard Bachman as the regular season winds down. Given that I already have Kari Lehtonen, would it make sense to drop Elliott at this point and grab Dallas' back up?

Thanks.

Do you mind sharing your sources as to why the Stars would “lean a little more upon Richard Bachman as the regular season winds down”? The only reason I could think of is that Lehtonen is injury prone.

Only Cam’s post on Tuesday citing the Dallas coach as saying that we may see more Bachman.
I don’t have my own sources, heh.

I’ve read the same thing—from Cam and Rotoworld and perhaps someone else.
I’m a Lehtonen owner, so I follow his situation closely.

I would keep Elliott.

At least with Elliott you are likely to get QUALITY starts.
He’s having a great year, and he has a much better team in front of him.

Bachman had a nice first few games, but he’s been quite mediocre since.
Also, coaches frequently say they are going to spell their #1s down the stretch, but when push comes to shove they keep rolling him out there. (Happened to Lehto just last year). So, not sure I would put too much weight on those statements.

Yeah Gulutzan said that he thought Lehtonen got worn down last year and he wanted to prevent that this season especially since they have a heavy schedule over the next month. But I don’t think you’ll see Bachman enough to make him more valuable than Elliott and Elliott has proven to be the superior goalie when he does start… so I’d stick with Elliott.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll stick with Elliott (who I almost dropped for Mark Dekanich at one point, yikes)
