Sunday's Daily Dosage - McDonald, Ryder, Letestu...

Andy McDonald has been flying lately

Hope you remembered to change your clocks, where appropriate... otherwise you may be reading this an hour later than usual or maybe I'm an hour late, we may never know

Andy McDonald with a pair of assists last night and after four months on the shelf he's stepped back in like it ain't no thang and has 5+5=10 over his last eight games.

At least a point in 15 of 16 now for Michael Ryder as he put home the ENG last night. He is up to 30 goals on the season after 11 in his last 16 games. If I didn't dislike this guy so much, I'd be pretty pumped about this as dude is having a hell of a season.

The CBJs Mark Letestu has been logging around 20 mpg lately and has 2+2=4 during a three game point streak.

Colin Wilson was a healthy scratch for the Preds on Thursday and then only played 10:45 in his return last night, so he can't be feeling too positive about the team adding A.Kostitsyn & Gaustad... or about them possibly bringing Alexander Radulov back as well. No further update on Radulov at this moment, btw, we'll be sure to pass any news on when we hear it. As MoP pointed out in the comments, he is not in the Yahoo! player list so you can't even add him if you wanted to, not sure when that will happen.

21 save shutout last night for Kari Lehtonen and he is now 7-0-1, 1.45 & .950 over his last eight games and hasn't given up more than three goals in a contest over his last 15 games.

Semyon Varlamov stopped 28 of 30 and has now given up just 10 goals over his last eight games (6-2-0, 1.24 & .956).

More of this please... Jeff Skinner with two goals, GWG, plus-3, five shots and then he took a late misconduct to cap it off with a bonus 12 PIMs. The kid hasn't been hyped like last year but he is scoring at a similar pace and has been heating up lately with 3+5=8 & plus-7 over his last seven games.

This is all part of the deal... Zack Kassian is like that well behaved dog that can snap on rare occasions, he had a 2nd period fight and then a 3rd period misconduct for a big 15 PIM night.

Two PPGs last night for Andrei Kostitsyn and he seems motivated in Music City with 3+3=6 in five games with his new team. Also helps that his brother totally set him up for two tap-ins.

Supposedly Erik Karlsson was questionable to play last night due to an undisclosed illness... sounds like a classic rope-a-dope tactic as he played 25 minutes, had two goals, four PIMs & six shots.

Max Pacioretty with 2A last night to extend his point streak to five games (5+5=10 & 25 shots).

P.K. Subban has a PPG goal in four of his last seven games and 3+4=7 over his last five games. Now that the Habs PP is no longer the worst in the league, his numbers are starting to look better... imagine that?

Ryan Malone with a goal on six shots last night and he has a single point in six straight (3+3=6).

29 save shutout for Ilya Bryzgalov for his fifth straight win and third shutout in his last four games. Those of you that hung in there when his sv% was down around .890 are now being rewarded for your insanity patience.

Jonas Gustavsson with a 27 save shutout but he took the SOL against Philly. It's noteworthy that he seems to be Randy Carlyle's guy as he has started every game that the new coach has been behind the bench.

Marek Zidlicky with a hammer-shot from the point for a late 3rd period GWG last night, his first goal of the season. That follows up his 2A from his last game... but note that both of these games were versus the Islanders, so discount as you feel necessary.

Jordan Caron with an assist, plus-2 & four shots to give him 3+4=7 & plus-8 during a four game point streak.

He was SOL but it was a third straight solid outing for the Sens Ben Bishop as he stopped 38 of 41 vs Buffalo.
