Busy night for Devan Dubnyk as he was peppered with 42 shots (stopped 40) and hung on for the SOL against PHX. He is making a late season statement that he wants the #1 job next year as he is now 10-6-2, 2.41 & .922 over his last 18 games. I'm not sure if that's the way the Oilers are going to go next year but I think this kid is a lot better than most people give him credit for.
Yowzers... two more goals, GWG, six PIMs, three shots & five hits for Scott Hartnell as his monster/crazy/loco season continues. He has now reached 35 goals, 130 PIMs & 200 shots this year with still 10 games to go.
Matt Stajan had the only goal for the Flames last night and now has 4+3=7 & plus-5 over his last seven games. I don't know if I'd want to be counting on this guy but he is surely available in most leagues.
The dynamic duo of Andrew Shaw & Bryan Bickell both had three points yesterday... good day for them and both are regulars in the lineup lately but neither is producing consistently these days so you can surely find somebody better.
Assist for Dmitry Orlov last night and he continues to impress with 1+5=6 & plus-5 over his last seven games. He sees virtually no PP time but has become a regular on the 2nd pairing under Dale Hunter... the future looks bright for this kid.
Corey Crawford only had to make 16 saves (16/18) to win his third straight game last night. So expect the Hawks to ride the hot hand as long as they can.
Martin Erat notched another assist to make it 2+5=7 during a productive four game week. I'm not sure what is going on here as Erat has finished between 49 & 59 points in each of the last seven season but with 56 already it looks like he might bust through to 60-something this year.
Kris Letang was keeping the scorekeepers busy yesterday as he had 2A, plus-2, six PIMs, six shots, three hits & two blocks.
Assist yesterday for Pascal Dupuis to extend his point streak to six games (5+3=8) and he has 8+6=14 over his last 15.
Vintage Alex Ovechkin on a sweet goal last night but those have been few & far between this year. He does have four goals & 22 shots over his last six games but he is having a hard time stringing together a lengthy streak.
A goal in Edmonton last night for the former Oilers stickboy Ray Whitney, he has 1+5=6 during a four game point streak.
Alexander Radulov has negotiated a release from his KHL contract, clearing another hurdle in his return to the NHL, so speculation is that we could see him in Nashville some time this week.
