Fantasy Hockey Hypotheticals

Stay connected for news and updates

Hey Everyone,

Each year various situations are presented to a given manager where there is no clear cut decision to be. Or, as discovered in various other FanPosts, different managers handle the same situation very differnetly. In this theme I present a hypothetical situation that I've observed and been a part of at various times over the years in the hopes of discovering different ways you guys would handle the situation and maybe get some debate going on.

Situation: Single year league, points only, with extra point for PPP and a cap on games at each roster position. Roster is 8F 5D. Two full weeks left but you only have 11 forward games remaining. On the flip side your projected to be well under the cap for Dmen. Your in first with the guy in second gaining on you, say 8 points back. The guy in second has more than enough games left for his forwards plus a pick up or two (likely any guys you drop) and in no way will go over the cap in games.

Question: Do you drop some forwards to pick up some extra Dmen, hang on for dear life and hope his entire team gets injured or goes cold, play just your key forwards, play the forwards who are hot, what? I know its tough without actual rosters but still thought I'd throw it out there. My buddies and I debated this for a bit so was hoping to get a different "philosophy"

Cheers
