Last Thursday, Calvin beat out 21 other entries to take first place in the over/under/pick 'em competition we hold every week as part of the newish FHS: Thursday Night Live! feature. Calvin has also started his own version of the pick 'em comp over on SBNation Buffalo Sabres blog Die By The Blade. Calvin's "Pick n' Mix" focuses exclusively on Sabres games over a seven day period - great concept, and open to everyone, whether you're a Buffalo fan or not. I am extremely envious of Calvin's scoring spreadsheet, but the good news is he has volunteered to create something similar for our Thursday night comp. Thank you sir!
This Thursday there are 12 games on tap, including some pivotal battles in the NHL playoff race. With this being the second last week before H2H playoffs, your own playoff hopes may be on the line too.
After the jump, Thursday's slate and your chance to submit your picks and become this week's champ.
1. Submit your pick for the winning team for each game.
2. Based on an over/under of 5.5 goals, submit your pick for over or under for each game.
3. Submit your pick for the game winning goal scorer in each game. Shootout winners count as a GWG.
For every winning team you pick correctly, you get 1 point. For every over/under you get right, you get 1 point. For every GWG scorer picked correctly, you get 1 point. So a max of three points per game if you hit the rarefied trifecta of winner, over/under and GWG scorer.
Please post your picks in the comments for this post, and to keep things simple, just copy and paste the above slate and add your choice of winning team ((H = home win, V = visitor win), over or under based on 5.5 goals ((O = over, U = under), and the last name of your pick for GWG scorer:
BUF@BOS HO Chara
NYI@NJD VU Tavares
As always, the winner will be featured alongside the NHL's best in Monday's Fantasy Stars of the Week, and with that type of unbridled glory waiting for you, I'm not sure what else I can say to convince you to join in. See you Thursday...live blogging starts around 4pm PST.
