In the first year of a Salary Cap Dynasty League, need to decide on the length of contracts for my picks.

In a bit of a dilemma over Martin St. Louis. Currently 37, under contract with Tampa for another three seasons. Dropped to 74 points last year but was 80+ in the five seasons prior (averaged 92).

I can sign him for a cap hit of $4.8M (our total cap hit is $70.2M, mirrors NHL) for anywhere from one to four seasons. I feel pretty comfortable given his health & current situation that he'll be an effective player for another year or two but not sure if he will be for another three. And once his contract with Tampa is up (at age 40), do you think he'll retire or stick around?

What do you say: How long a contract (up to 4 years) would you give St. Louis at $4.8M?
