The Rangers won't be without their captain for long. - Elsa

A fantasized look at some NHL injuries on a Thursday morning.

All of us Ryan Callahan owners can exhale as his shoulder injury will only cost him 10-14 days.

Sven Baertschi is "very doubtful" for tonight's Flames game according to coach Bob Hartley.

The contract-less Ryan O'Reilly was diagnosed with a minor ankle sprain. The Avalanche have been dreadful and must be feeling the pressure to get O'Reilly back in the lineup but this likely won't help the urgency.

Nikita Nikitin has a head injury and won't play tonight. It isn't being called a concussion yet, but most head injuries seem to be just that these days.

Cam Atkinson was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain so they're adding an extra 2-3 weeks to his timetable.

Sergei Gonchar sat out last night's game with a LBI but it was reported that he was already heading to Carolina for Friday's game so it sounds like that was just a one game thing.

Steve Sullivan missed last night's game with a LBI and he's listed as day to day.

Reports are that Brent Burns participated in practice with the Sharks on Tuesday but there still is no news regarding how much longer he might be out.
