Heavy schedule tonight and many of you are wondering if Zemgus Girgensons will be on the ice. so here's the scoop for your Thursday, October 17, 2013 NHL contests
Vancouver Canucks at Buffalo Sabres
Zemgus Girgensons left Tuesdays game after taking a puck to the face, seems his eye is puffy. Sounds as if he'll be in the lineup.
Nikita Zadorov practiced yesterday, I expect he plays
Dan Hamhuis missed Wednesday's practice with an upper-body injury sustained while blocking a shot on Tuesday. He's listed probable for Thursday.
Carolina Hurricanes at Toronto Maple Leafs
James van Riemsdyk who missed Tuesdays game with what is being called general soreness, participated in drills yesterday. I expect him to be on the ice tonight for the Leafs
Although there was a little optimism that he might be able to play Elias Lindholm is now expected to miss Thursday's game.
Edmonton Oilers at NY Islanders
Jesse Joensuu is back in Edmonton... so unavailable.
Pittsburgh Penguins at Philadelphia Flyers
As Clint reported yesterday "Kris Letang was a full participant in practice so look for his return shortly." whether that means tonight there is no word yet.
Beau Bennett missed Wednesday's practice he's also missing an opportunity to solidify a spot ashe is doubtful for Thursday
Vincent Lecavalier will not be in the lineup tonight.
Columbus Blue Jackets at Montreal Canadiens
I've not been able to find any update on Max Pacioretty, but the way he was helped off the ice Tuesday vs the Jets, I'd be surprised to see him in the lineup tonight
New Jersey Devils at Ottawa Senators
Ryane Clowe has been placed on I.R. with a head injury, so out for the next few
Minnesota Wild at Tampa Bay Lightning
Niklas Backstrom practiced Wednesday. He could be available to back up Josh Harding.
Martin St. Louis isn't ruling himself out for tonight so that's a good sign for the Lightning and his owners. Nothing currently is determined however concerning tonight. Brett Connolly was called up I assume to replace him if needed.
Boston Bruins at Florida Panthers
Tim Thomas while being called questionable by Kevin Dineen seems to be the likely starter tonight as his former team Boston comes to town.
For Boston, Carl Soderberg is still day-to-day and doubtful for tonight.
St. Louis Blues at Chicago Blackhawks
Brenden Morrow who missed yesterdays practice was reportedly ruled out for Thursday night giving Magnus Paajarvi an opportunity to see his first action on the season. Now it seems Morrow is still hoping to be on the ice.
Los Angeles Kings at Nashville Predators
For those of you needing PIM's don't look to Rich Clune, as he will not be available for Thursday's game
San Jose Sharks at Dallas Stars
Dan Boyle is not with the team following his forced altercation with the boards.
Kari Lehtonen has been placed on I.R. so is out for this one. Dan Ellis is expected in net tonight.
Detroit Red Wings at Colorado Avalanche
Jimmy Howard will dress for this one in a backup capacity.
Jonas Gustavsson will start his 3rd straight.
Darren Helm, who has played in less than 2 games in the past 18 months, has been sent to Grand Rapids on a conditioning stint and will lace them up on Friday for the Griffins.
Who did I miss, let me know in the comments.
