hursday's NHL Injury Update
I wanted to rename this The Havlat Report, but the higher ups (you know who you are) thought it was tacky
Seven games on the Schedule for Thursday Nov. 14, 2013
Columbus Blue Jackets @ Boston Bruins
Nick Foligno (personal?) should be in the lineup tonight
Adam McQuaid (LBI hip/groin) is doubtful find PIM's elsewhwere
Los Angeles Kings @ New York Islanders
Jonathan Quick diagnosed with a grade 2 groin strain, meaning he is out anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks
Thomas Vanek (UBI) skated Wednesday, but didn't participate in the Islanders' practice.
this seems to point to an imminent return, how imminent to be determined, not tonight though
Anaheim Ducks @ Tampa Bay Lightning
Kyle Palmieri said he's ready to return from the flu.
The will likely need him cuz...
Corey Perry is questionable to play... due to the? ...you guessed it the flu.
Ryan Getzlaf (UBI) missing his third consecutive tonight.
Sami Salo (LBI) out tonight will travel with the team on the upcoming 4 game road trip, should be back soon or he just likes it out west
Colorado Avalanche @ St. Louis Blues
Alex Tanguay is still being examined.. he won't play... for a while
Jordan Leopold requires surgery to repair ligaments in his hand, so the resigned Carlo Colaiacovo because his name is so fun to spell.
Magnus Paajarvi, continuing the spelling fun names portion of our program, MPS (though they dropped the S long ago) was reportedly making progress last i heard, my guess he still is... maybe?
Dallas Stars @ Calgary Flames
Ray Whitney out and will be for a while
San Jose Sharks @ Vancouver Canucks
Brent Burns (beard/mouth/something) is not expected to play... I've actually moved on and no longer worry about it
to end on a positive note
Marty Havlat will dress for his 7th consecutive game, no matter that he is nearly invisible, it's still good news.
