Before I start giving Karlsson owners some advice, let me just say this; THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR ERIK KARLSSON.

There is however, some defenseman out there on waivers that you can pick up to help the burden that Karlsson left for you. The list im about to present to you is the top 5 d-men that have the closest stats to Karlsson that are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues. This is not a list of the best d-man available, its a list of the d-men that replace Karlsson's stats the best.

1. Cody Franzen- 1 goal, 7 assists, 24 hits, 8 blocks- i struggled with this number one overall pick, but he beat out my #2 guy by very little. He is racking up the assists in the big Leaf, he has shown he can replace Karlson's assists, and he has a 14 more hits than Karlsson too,

2. Jay Bowmeester- 3 goals, 2 assists 10 Hits, 15 blocks- It seems like he has been in the league forever but he might just be entering his prime at the age of 29. He is a solid two way d-man, worth a shot on your team.

3. Eric Brewer- 3 Goals, 2 Assists, 14 hits, 24 blocks- Has been playing very well for Tampa Bay so far this year, He helps you out in every category.

4. Jay Harrison- 2 Goals 4 Assists 20 Hits 20 Blocks- you could make the case for him being 2 or 3, but i like him here. Has been playing very well on a high coring team.

5. Simon Depres- 2 goals, 3 assists, 14 Hits, 24 blocks- He is playing very well for the Pens and has produced with Letang out of the lineup.
