Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Sunday

USA TODAY Sports

A fantasized look at the injury news on Sunday morning

Well this is a little unusual but we have to give our fantasy stat-line of the night to the returning Joffrey Lupul as he made up for missing 25 games with a broken arm by scoring twice and adding four PIMs, five shots & six hits.

David Booth left last night's game with what looked like a serious ankle injury. Not so serious, actually more of a joke, has been his production this year with just three points in 12 games so I think you'll be able to find a replacement.

A non-major LBI is apparently what kept Michael Ryder out of last night's game... he should be ok soon enough.

Zack Kassian had a stiff back and couldn't go last night.

A case of the sniffles felled Alex Pietrangelo and he sat out last night's game.

Mikael Backlund left the arena on Friday night with the help of crutches, so unless he was really getting into character for a costume party then I'd say he might have a LBI.

Martin Brodeur (back) skated yesterday and should start practicing soon... Pete DeBoer says he's not too far off.

Returning to action from the injured list yesterday: Tyler Ennis, Ville Leino, Jamie Benn, Vladimir Tarasenko, Joni Pitkanen, Ed Jovanovski & Nikita Nikitin.
