Under head coach Paul MacLean's 1st season with Ottawa, the Sens went 41-31-10. This year so far they're a surprising 18-9-6. Last years team GAA was 2.9 (mediocre/bad!) while this years is 2.1 this year(3rd best in the league). Can I expect this next year? Or is it a bit of a fluke.... If the GAA gets worse next year, how much worse?
All 3 of Ottawa's goalies are performing well in their system, one maybe a little better than the next. Regardless, it seems fairly obvious that Lehner's NHL time is solely because of Anderson's injury. But my question is what does Lehner's situation look like next year assuming Anderson is fully healthy? Anderson's only 31 yeas old and playing well enough to not lose his job, but then again all of Ottawa's other goalies are playing well too.
Does Lehner spend most of next season in the minors? Does he split time with Anderson? The odds of Ottawa moving Anderson are probably slim seeing as he's currently injured and the goalie sale market is pretty quiet. Plus, Ottawa probably wants Anderson around a while longer. Bishop is being treated like a backup, so I'm not really going to factor him in... Let me know if you disagree with that statement.
