Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Wednesday

A fantasized look at the injury news on Wednesday morning

Tough luck here as Tobias Enstrom took a hard hit and left the game in the 1st last night with what appeared to be a sore back. We'll let you know when we get an update.

Kari Lehtonen tweaked his groin in the warm-up last night and eventually had to leave the game in the 1st period. The Stars say it's not serious and that he'll be re-evaluated today.

Dany Heatley had his shoulder surgery and it will shut him down for the rest of the season & playoffs.

The Wild also said that Matt Cullen (LBI) is expected to miss another week... dammit.

Chris Higgins has been healthy so far this year so you knew he was due... it's a LBI and he's out indefinitely.

Ilya Kovalchuk practiced for a bit yesterday but couldn't shoot the puck much due to his injured shoulder. He's likely still a week away.

Knowing how crazy Melnyk is, the Sens likely had Erik Karlsson's Achilles replaced with a bionic one and that's why he is able to recover so quickly. Based on the video of him skating the other day and all the hype it created, it certainly seems like he could return by the time the playoffs roll around.

Returning to action from the injured list last night: Patrick Sharp, Justin Faulk, Alexander Semin, Rene Bourque, Nikita Nikitin, Ryan Malone, Andy McDonald, Thomas Vanek & Matt Moulson.
