Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Sunday

Bruce Bennett

A fantasized look at some NHL injury news on a Sunday morning.

Danny Briere returned last night from concussion issues. He almost scored the tying goal with one second left but hit the crossbar instead. Loser. He played almost 19 minutes with no ill effects so start him if you normally would.

Martin Erat returned after missing three games with a lower body injury, He has a minus-2 with 15 minutes of ice time.

Victor Hedman returned from a LBI after missing four games. He picked up an assist in over 27 minutes of action.

Ales Hemsky is expected to miss at least three games with a foot injury.

Sounds like Patrice Bergeron won't be out much longer due to his concussion. He was back at full speed for the morning skate yesterday even though he didn't suit up.

Evgeni Malkin missed the game with an upper body injury. He hadn't had a multi-point game in the seven games since he returned from his last stint on the DL. Complaining about a player not going multi-ball in seven game is kinda a compliment.

Artem Anisimov was hit by Charlie Coyle's shoulder last night and didn't return. No word on extend yet. But we have an ear to the ground and we'll let you know.

Cam Fowler sat out with an UBI. No word on extent.

Matt Cullen practiced with the Wild for the first time since getting injured. Sounds like he'll accompany the team on the upcoming three-game road trip so expect him back soon.
