Our thoughts & prayers go out to those affected by the events in Boston... this was a little freaky for me personally as I lived there for four years and have walked down that stretch of Boylston thousands of times
James Reimer with a 32 save zero against the Devils last night and it seems like he has settled down since the trade deadline as he is now 6-1-1, 1.74 & .942 in his last eight games. Despite that I wasn't wise enough to start him this week as I opted for Schneider instead in one league.
PPG/GWG last night for Phil Kessel and that gives him six goals during a four game scoring streak.
The hit counter at the ACC was feeling generous last night but Cody Franson's owners won't complain as he ended up with nine hits to go along with three blocks and a PPA.
Carey Price grabbed a six pack of goals last night and has now given up 4+ and/or been pulled in four of his last eight games. Not a good time to dive into a slump.
Scott Hartnell will take whatever Price will give him as he had just two goals in his previous 13 games coming into last night but left the game with three goals in his last one games! Giroux & Voracek also had three points last night for the Flyers.
Alex Galchenyuk with a goal last night giving him 4+3=7 over his last seven games. If I was going to bet on a hot streak ending, I'd pick this one as he played just nine minutes last night, doesn't see much PP time and may be getting a call from Shanny after a questionable hit in the game.
Old guys rule!... 2A for Ray Whitney last night and he now has 3+6=9 over his last five games.
A pair of goals for Ryan Kesler and he has 3+3=6 in his four games since returning from his foot injury.
Ben Hanowski scored in his first NHL game last night as he attempts to make the Flames management look smart (tough ask) for their return from the Iginla trade. This guy has some talent but I think he's a longshot to be a fantasy asset.
Sven Baertschi had his hand in a lot of chances for the Flames last night and scored for the second straight game... confidence is rising.
Mikael Backlund has a point in three straight (1+3=4) and a hefty 25 shots over his last five games. His ice-time is up as he's seen 18+ minutes in his last three games. All good signs for those looking towards next year.
Tyson Barrie is also benefitting from additional TOI, 23+ minutes in each of his last three, with four assists in his last five games.
Cody McLeod with a pair of goals last night and that's actually goals in consecutive games for old stone hands.
Tampa gave Ben Bishop a two-year contract extension, so they are pleased with what they've seen so far as he is 2-3-0, 3.22 & .916 in six games since the trade. Look for him and Lindback to battle it out for the #1 job next season.
