Fantasy Hockey News for Saturday

A fantasized look at Friday's NHL action

The sky is falling on Broadway. Brad Richards put home three for the hat trick last night. He hadn't even had more than one goal in a game all season. It was his second straight multipoint performance and in 10 April games he's got 5+5=10 and 29 shots. He's still likely to get bought out this offseason.

What a breakout season it's been for Derek Stepan. He had two assists and plus-3 giving him points in three straight and 9 of his last 10 matches. He's at 5+8=13 for those games.

Christian Ehrhoff had two assists (lets forget about the fact that he was also a minis-5) giving him a four game point scoring streak. He has 1+4=5, 4 PPP, and 6 PIM for the streak.

Brian Elliott stopped 21 of 22 for the win over the Stars last night. This gives him wins in three straight and 8 of his last 9 giving up only 9 goals in those 9 games.

Chris Stewart scored a powerplay goal last night but he's really fallen off recently with just two goals and one assist for his last 14 games.

We're going to go with Matt Halischuk for fantasy line of the night for his 2+1=3, 4 hits, 4 shots, 2 blocks, and plus-3. He's been somewhat useless as a fantasy asset this season even taking into account this three point outburst.

A goal and an assist for Bobby Butler last night and he's got 4 points (3+1=4) in his last 4 contests but he's been disappointing to say the least.

Duncan Keith converted from three with a goal and two assists last night. He also had 4 shots, 2 PPP, and 2 blocks. With just two points in his previous 9 games, last night was a breath of fresh air for Keith owners.

The Captain, Jonathan Toews had two assists last night to extend his point scoring streak to four. He's at 2+4=6 with 13 shots for the streak.

Also on a four game point scoring streak is teammate Viktor Stalberg after netting an assist last night. He has 2 goals and 2 assists for the streak.

I almost fell off my chair when I saw the night that Jordan Eberle had. He was 1+2=3, 3 shots, 2 blocks, and plus-3. It's been an awful year for the youngster trying to follow up his breakout 2011-2012 campaign. He came into last night riding a six game pointless streak with minus-8.

Justin Schultz had the game winning goal and an assist last night. He did most of his damage early but his 23 points in 43 games looks pretty good for a rookie defenseman.

Another solid game for Miikka Kiprusoff as he stopped 32 of 33 for the win giving him two straight wins.

Lee Stempniak had an assist, 2 shots, and 2 hits last night. With 30 points in 44 games he's at .68 points per game, the highest of his career.

Got the Call: Igor Bobkov, Mark Cundari, Daniel Bang, Kevin Henderson

Got the Drop: Tyler Toffoli
