Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Monday

USA TODAY Sports

A fantasized look at the injury news on Monday morning

Joffrey Lupul (head injury) skated for 20 minutes yesterday and said he feels good. He won't play tonight but it seems like he may be able to make a miraculous return sometime soon.

Mixed messages for the Caps as they said that Martin Erat doesn't have a concussion after going into the boards heavily on Saturday but he does have a leg injury. Erat reported that he was feeling pretty good on Sunday, so maybe he won't be out long. The bad news was that Brooks Laich is due to see a groin specialist this week and I'm guessing it's trending towards season-ending surgery

The former all-star known as Dany Heatley will have shoulder surgery on Tuesday and is likely out for a while.

Mike Fisher missed three games, came back for two and is now out again due to a bum hand... he's day-to-day.

Nikita Nikitin missed yesterday's game due to a UBI.

Something is going around... Brandon Dubinsky & Andy McDonald both missed a game yesterday due to the flu.

Henrik Zetterberg just laughs at punks sitting out due to the flu as he's been playing though a bad groin for a while.

Patrick Sharp (shoulder) is expected to return after missing 14 games on Tuesday and Paul Stastny (foot) is hoping to be back in the lineup tonight.

Craig Anderson made his first start in six weeks yesterday after recovering from that ankle injury.
