Daily Diarrhea

LA told Patrick O'Sullivan not to come to training camp without a contract... the negotiations aren't going too well apparently but we'd still expect a deal to get done before the season and grab O'Sullivan in your draft if he drops cause this guy had a big 2nd half last year and looks like the genuine article.

Teemu Selanne signed a tryout contract with Anaheim which allows him to "participate in all training camp activities"... so he'll be ready for the season once Burke can free up cap space to sign him.

Anaheim also signed RFA Drew Miller to a two-way contract... so he might be going back to the AHL.

Todd Bertuzzi is going to get first crack at the 1st line LW spot with Langkow and Iginla... will he stick?... not sure, but its a good sign that he's Keenan's 1st choice and a lot better than being on the 2nd line with Matt Lombardi and Rene Bourque.

Boston looks to be lining up with Savard and Ryder on the 1st line with a TBD LW and then Sturm-Bergeron-Kobasew as the 2nd line.  That leaves Phil Kessel with David Krejci on the 3rd line, which is not ideal for these guys, we were kinda hoping they'd find their way into the top 6 but we still like both of them breakout this year... tons more on these guys in the Breakout Bible.

Potential Dallas 2nd line of Avery-Richards-Modano... coach Dave Tippett wants to give this line a while to gel, good news for Sean Avery playing with a great playmaker like Richards.

NYR lines so far in camp are Naslund-Gomez-Zherdev and Dawes-Drury-Prucha...  Nikolai Zherdev has apparently been zhitting the bed so far in camp, which is not surprising from a guy that Columbus was very glad to get rid of.

Distraction of the Day

What's distracting us today... Its like Christmas Day for fantasy hockey junkies as its DRAFT DAY at Fantasy Hockey Scouts!... actually its better than Christmas cause my Mom's not here telling me to stay in my room until 7:00am before I can go look under the tree.  Been up since 4:00am, couldn't sleep so figured I'd do some last minute prep-work before we get to see what nicely wrapped gifts are waiting for us under the tree this year.   If your draft is today and you're doing some last minute cramming then grab a copy of our free 2008-09 fantasy hockey rankings and projected stats and give 'em the once over.
