Justin Pogge made his NHL debut last night after toiling in the AHL for two years. He didn't face a lot of rubber (21 shots) but was sharp when he needed to be (19 saves) and picked up the win. Remember what we said yesterday...if Burke trades away Vesa Toskala (like some are expecting) Pogge could get handed the number one job
Matt Stajan led the Leafs to victory with two goals and an assist last night. He now has nine goals and 20 assists in 32 games. Worthy of an add in most deeper leagues...especially if you don't count shots.
Earlier this week we suggested you go and pick up Bobby Ryan (filling in for Teemu Selanne on top line). Yesterday he proved us very smart with a goal and two assists (two points on the PP).
Jeremy Williams picked up a goal and an assist last night and now has five goals in six games. He doesn't have much pedigree but continues to deliver the goods. Might be worth an add...but we're thinking he'll flame out soon so don't get too excited.
Jonas Hiller got the start last night and the loss. He let in four goals on 26 shots in an mediocre performance. J.S. Giguere is back from his father's funeral and should get the next few starts.
Ilya Zubov has worked out his US visa problems and is expected to play tonight in Philly. He has two points in the three games on Canadian soil so far this year. He's one of the Sens better prospects so we're thinking he'll get a long look with the struggling Sens.
MA Fleury bounced back after an awful game on Saturday with the OT win last night. He stopped 32 of 35 shots and looks to be back his old self again.
Injury Updates (see our Injury Updates page for a consolidated list of injuries):
Mike Green re-aggravated his shoulder injury and will not play tonight. After he came back last week many of you probably stuck him in your lineup. Hopefully it will be only a one game vacation for Greenie.
Peter Mueller missed last night's game with a leg injury, he's out day-to-day.
Filip Kuba left the last game with a sore groin and may miss tonight's game, maybe more.
Vesa Toskala, Mike Van Ryn, Milan Michalek, Marek Svatos and Doug Weight should all be back in a game or two.
Pascal Dupuis returned from injury and played last night.
What's distracting us today? Saw this video on NHL.com today. Patrick Kane (or P. Kane as he's known by his teammates apparently) takes us through a tour of his childhood bedroom. Pretty pimped out:
And check out this beauty goal from Blake Wheeler on Sunday night...one of two on the night for the rook. Wow:
