Daily Diarrhea

Guerin Billy Guerin had three points yesterday after his one point debut for the Penguins so he might actually get a bigger jump than we thought from this trade as he's playing on a line with Crosby but has also been given a spot on the #1 PP unit.

Despite only winning eight games so far this year Yann Danis has been posting some pretty impressive numbers with a 2.43 gaa & .926 sv%... and if that's not enough for ya he's 4-2 with a 1.52 gaa & .952 sv% in his last six starts.  We have a life rule that we don't pick up the Islanders 3rd string goalie but if you're really desperate you might want to give Yanni a look.

Phoenix scratched Peter Mueller yesterday and only gave Kyle Turris 13 minutes of ice as Wayne wanted to play the shit out of his new 1st line made up of Upshall-Lombardi-Prucha... we'd only be mildly surprised if the Coyotes didn't win another game this year.

Ward Cam Ward tends to suffer from lapses in consistency which makes him a frustrating start for fantasy GMs but he is a solid play lately with a 7-2 record with 2.26 gaa & .914 sv% in his last nine starts.

Marty Turco has had a 2nd half revival but he's run into a bit of a rough patch lately with only two wins in his last eight starts.  His averages haven't been terrible over this stretch (2.78 & .901) but that's mostly due to the Stars minimizing the shots as Marty's just not sealing the deal these days.

Jaroslav Halak's ill-timed illness has opened the door for Carey Price to regain the #1 job in Montreal and as suspected Price is starting to show signs of life... he's had back-to-back one-outs and will look to keep that going as Montreal returns home for three games this week.

Injury Updates (see our Injury Updates page for a consolidated list of injuries):

Havlat From the 'Shock & Awe' file, Marty Havlat left last night's game with a LBI... no word on the extent yet but has Havlat ever had an injury that turned out to be minor?

Petr Sykora is out day-to-day with a UBI, he had to sit out yesterday's game and could miss a few more.

Michael Nylander missed yesterday's game with a UBI.  Be it a healthy scratch or mystery injury, this guy is a risky play.

Alex Ovechkin sat out one game with that foot injury but he was back yesterday and did what he normally does... a goal and seven shots.  Feel free to get him in your lineup or don't if you're playing one of the Scouts this week.

Also returning to action from the injured list for the Crapitals yesterday was Tom Poti.  He could only managed seven seconds of ice-time last game but put in a full days work with 24 minutes yesterday.

Distraction of the Day

What's distracting us today?  Gary Roberts is going to be hanging them up for good so we thought we'd give him the FHS sendoff and highlight his sweetest fantasy season and post a fight video.  Wonder if you'd like to have a player with these numbers on your fantasy squad?... 76GP 53+37=90, +32, 207 PIMs, 196 shots... those were G-Roberts numbers in 1991-92 with Calgary.

Now for a little video montage of Roberts and Berube speedbagging each other's faces from yesteryear... I think Roberts likes taking the punches as much as he likes giving 'em... dude is loco.
