Fantasy Fortnight - Who's Hot & Who's Cold

Each week (or so) we'll dip a toe in the fantasy pool, test the water, and find out which players are hot and which ones are not over the past fortnight (that's two weeks).
(Statistics cover the period from Mar 16th to Mar 31st)

With only a handful of games remaining you must be reading FHS because you're in the hunt for your league's crown or are looking towards next season.  The Fantasy Fornight should help both types as late season surges often translate into next season.

PICK UP OF THE WEEK: DAVID PERRON LW STL

David Perron checks a lot of the boxes for us to recommend him.  He's young (21), has pedigree (1st round pick), is on a current hot streak and went from 27 points last year to 49 so far this year.  He'll give you a few PIM's (50), and won't kill you in PPP (15) or Shots (154).  Even if you can't find a spot for Perron on your squad keep him in mind for next year as he and his linemates (TJ Oshie and Patrik Berglund) are all looking like breakout candidates for 2009-10.

Honourable Mention:  Patrick Berglund, TJ Oshie, Tim Connolly,  Devin Setoguchi, Todd White, Nikolai Kumelin, Alexei Ponikarovsky, Mikhail Grabovski and Mark Recchi.

Yandle, Keith D PHO 5 0 1 1 0.20 Took a step forward this year…can he do it again next year?
Volchenkov, Anton D OTT 6 0 1 1 0.17 This year's 8 pts make last year's 15 points look good
Aucoin, Adrian D CGY 7 0 1 1 0.14 Still on pace for 35…you gotta be happy with that

Quincey, Kyle D LA  6 0 0 0 0.00 D-man breakout of the year hasn't been breaking much lately

DROP OF THE WEEK: PETR SYKORA W PIT

Petr Sykora scored over 80 points once...but that was seven years ago.  The last three years he's been putting up 50 to 60 points even though he's been played alongside Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.  With Bill Guerin and Chris Kunitz arriving in the 'Burgh it's looking like Sykora's minutes are getting smaller and smaller (he played only 12:51 against Calgary on Mar. 25th).  He does get some time on the PP (where he's scored 19 of his 45 points) but it looks like Sykora is on the decline...not the thing you want on your team in the last few weeks of the year.

Dishonourable Mention: Mattias Ohlund, Jarret Stoll and Justin Williams,
