Fantasy Hockey Scouts: Daily Dosage - Nov 30th, 2009

Dosage Express
Perry's streak is getting epic... Ryan, Edler & Clowe all trending up... a few returns in San Jose... and one of the worst trades ever

Daily Diarrhea

Perry Corey Perry extended his point streak to a totally bizonkers 18 games with another assist last night.  He also extended his goalless streak to seven games... so its nothing but helpers in his last seven.  Typically when guys are on crazy streaks like this we advise you to shop them around cause you know it can't last but Perry's value is probably still underrated as he's on pace for around 100 points, 100 PIMs and 300 shots... that's fantasy gold baby, you don't trade shit like that.

There was concern about the Ducks Bobby Ryan when he started the year with only two points in his first nine games but hopefully you were patient cause now you're reaping the rewards as he's 10+6=16 in his last 16 games and is on pace for 36+22=58 with 272 shots right now and we think he'll exceed those numbers.

Fourth straight start last night for JS Giguere and he was decent again making 23 saves in the OTL to the Coyotes.  One thing to note about his little run is that its all come at home... the Ducks continue their homestand on Tuesday against the Kings but then they hit a stretch where nine of their next 12 are on the road.

Edler Alexander Edler has quietly been putting together a fine season as he's had 1+6=7 with 5 PPP in his last six games and is on pace to build on his 37 point breakout season from last year with a 50 point pace right now.

Ryane Clowe has a little mini streak going with 3+4=7 during a six game point streak.  He's been very solid lately with 5+11=16 & 18 PIMs in his last 15 games.  Enjoy this little run if you own Clowe but be wary that his body could breakdown at any moment.

Injury Updates (see our Injury Updates page for a consolidated list of injuries):

Setoguchi Rob Blake and Devin Setoguchi returned to the Sharks lineup last night.  Blake jumped right back in and played over 21 minutes but the Gooch was just eased back in as he only played 11 minutes, mostly on the 4th line without much PP time (per FantasyHockey911)... look for him to be back in the top 6 shortly.

Its so slow today that we're dipping into the AHL for injury news... Thrashers prospect Angelo Esposito suffered a torn ACL last weekend and is out for the rest of the season, this is the second year in a row that he's had his season cut short with a knee injury.  So not only is this guy a disappointment when he plays (only four assists in 12 AHL games this year) but he can't even keep himself on the ice.

Daily Distraction

What's distracting us today?  Do you remember what you were doing four years ago today?  Well if you were Joe Thornton then you were getting the rather shocking news that the Bruins have traded your ass out of town... but that wasn't even the most outrageous part as the package that the Bruins received in return (Marco Sturm, Brad Stuart & Wayne Primeau) left everyone scratching their heads.  Here's a little historical reaction to the deal with Pierre McGuire especially disgusted, to the point where he gives his analysis in the form of a 2-minute-long sentence, without taking a breath...
