Dosage Express
Dubie & EC carrying Gaborik... Helm, Yip & Poti pleasant surprises... Huet with another meltdown... Kane, Bailey and Leighton on nice streaks... Teemu & Gonch return... the Brass Bonanza Boogie

Daily Diarrhea

Dubinsky With Marian Gaborik struggling (by his standards) with 2+3=5 in his last eight games, its been the other two members of the Rangers top line that have been carrying them lately as Brandon Dubinsky has 5+7=12 in his last 10 and waiver wire addition Erik Christensen has 3+4=7 in his last six... consider Dubie or EC next week as the Rangers play four times.

Hang in there Phil Kessel owners, sure he only has one goal and two points in his last 12 games but dude has 15 sogs in the two games since his coach called him out and two posts last night... they'll start going in for the kid, be patient.

Darren Helm is not really known as a sniper but the speedster has been potting them lately with 5+1=6, a plus-5 and 18 shots in his last five games.  The Wings have a fairly easy four game sked next week, so Helm might be worth a look.

Huet Rough outing for Cristobal Huet as he gave up a four goal lead in the 3rd period to M'sota last night and ended up taking the loss in the shootout.  He's still been consistently racking up the wins but his performance has been anything but consistent... here's his goals against over his past seven games: 5 (on 21 shots), 1, 3 (on 22 shots), 1, 4 (on 10 shots), 1 and 3 (on 14 shots).  Coach Q has given Antti Niemi starts in four of the past 10 (he won all four) and he should see another today so Huet is starting to lose time and we think this Crease Conflict is starting to flame up.

Patrick Kane extended his point streak to 11 games with two points last night and that gives him 9+9=18 during the streak... crazy run from the 21-year old kid who sits 6th in league scoring.

Yesterday we told you that Josh Bailey has been feeling it lately and with a three point night last night he extended his point streak to six games with 4+6=10.

Guillaume Latendresse has really taken on a major role on the Wild's 2nd line and has been putting up some decent numbers lately, 6+1=7 with 26 shots in his last nine games.  M'sota has four games next week so if you're really desperate, then give him a look.

Yip Avs rookie Brandon Yip continued his fine start to his career with two more points last night giving him 5+3=8 in his last eight games... he played a season high 17 minutes last night.  What is it with the Avs and rookies this year?... they all seem to be scoring.

Tom Poti had three points last night and points in five straight... don't expect him to keep this up but the Caps have an easy four game sked next week so he might be useful to a fantasy GM or two.

Keep that easy four game week for the Caps in mind when considering Michal Neuvirth for next week as there's rumblings that Varlamov is getting close but Neuvirth will probably see at least a few games next week and he's been stellar lately, capped off by his 38 save one-out of the Thrashers last night.

Another win last night for Mike Leighton as he stopped 17 of 18 to beat the Lightning and although Ray Emery is ready to return to the nets, how can you take a guy out that hasn't lost (7-0-1 in 10 games) for the Flyers yet.  They'll have to throw Emery in soon but we'd expect them to go back to Leighton in a hurry... hang on to Leighton if you own him, we don't think his ride is over just yet.

Injury Updates (see our Injury Updates page for a consolidated list of injuries):

Arnott Jason Arnott missed last night's game with a UBI that will keep him out of the next two games as well... this guy's very prone to picking up these types of minor knocks so it comes with the territory when you're a Arnie owner.

Speaking of brittle, Sami Salo sat out last night's game with an eye injury, it shouldn't keep him out for too many more games but you never know with Sami.

Filip Kuba left last night's game with a LBI, no word on the extent yet.

Returning to action from the injured list last night was: Teemu Selanne, Randy Jones, Martin Erat, Steve SullivanSergei Gonchar and Rusty Fedotenko.

Daily Distraction

What's distracting us today?  We were going to post a video of Brass Bonanza, just cause... but then we saw this "interesting" video of something called the 'Brass Bonanza Boogie':

Best part is co-worker dude in the background and how he's unfazed by crazy dancing lady... just another day at the office.
