Dosage Express
Rangers can't beat Brodeur(s)... what more can Lundqvist do... give Dusty & Downie a look... Leclaire hurt in practice... a pair of dust-ups

Daily Diarrhea

HEADS UP: Our weekly 'Fantasy Five' article is up over at check it out, it's really good, might be one of the six or seven best things we've done so far in 2010.

Brodeur_Mike The Rangers were shutout by Brodeur for the second game in a row... except this time it was Mike Brodeur from the Senators, he got the call earlier in the day after Leclaire went down with an injury in practice and Brian Elliott contracted the flu.  That's two starts and two wins for Brodeur and with the Sens having some goalie issues then why wouldn't they give the kid a few more games?

Poor Henrik Lundqvist, you can't tend goal much better than he has over the past two games as he was coming off a shutout loss the other night and then carried a shutout late into the 3rd period last night before giving up one and losing the game 2-0.

Jordan Staal added three assists to his tally last night and with a little hot streak lately with 3+7=10 in his last 10 games he's on pace for a 54 point breakout season in our eyes.

Byfuglien Dustin Byfuglien is worth a look right now as he's had 1+8=9... he's also on pace for over 100 PIMs and close to 200 shots, so he'll give you some goodies in a number of categories.

Tyler Bozak had two points including a highlight reel goal last night and he now has points in each of his three NHL games... not a bad start for the kid as he's seeing decent minutes on the 1st line with Phil Kessel.  He might be a decent add in deeper one-year & keeper leagues but keep your expectations in check as he's due to hit a bump in the road soon.

Steve Downie had a big night with a goal and four PIMs... he's had 4+5=9, plus-4 and 35 PIMs in his last 10 games... this guy deserves serious consideration from GMs.

Its been a nice run for Benoit Pouliot lately as he added a goal last night and has 5+1=6 in his last eight games... but we'd be shocked if he keeps this up.

Injury Updates (see our Injury Updates page for a consolidated list of injuries):

Leclaire Pascal Leclaire suffered an undisclosed injury at practice and he wasn't able to go last night.

Joni Pitkanen left last night's game after taking a shot to the lower body, so he's got a LBI... ahhh, that's all we got.

Saku Koivu left last night's game with a LBI, no word on the extent yet.

Shawn Horcoff missed last night's game with an illness, not an injury.

Returning to action from the injured list last night was:  Nik Antropov, Marian Hossa, Kris Russell, Jonathan Ericsson, Andy McDonald and Carl Gunnarsson.

Daily Distraction

What's distracting us today?  We were going to go with these videos the other day and then all the Burrows-Auger stuff dropped and then there was that Crosby commercial... and so its a lot less timely now but still worth posting as these were two serious fisticuffs from this past weekend involving Rick Rypien & Brandon Prust... love it:
