Ovechkin not terrible, especially not against Leafs... Ellis hot every other game... a Horny tear... Leclaire can't survive practice... cover your ears for this ridiculously awful Sharks song
Weak night on the schedule as there were only two games, one being a 1-0 stinker and in the other, Ovechkin had all the points, so not much for us to talk about...
Speaking of Alex Ovechkin, he dropped five points on the lowly Leafs last night and that gives him 18+14=32 in 19 career games against the Leafs and 4+8=12 in four games against them this year... so you might want to think about getting him in your lineup against the Leafs next time... in fact, you probably want him in your lineup against all teams... double in fact, you probably want everyone that's playing against the Leafs in your lineup all the time. In other news, there's not much to talk about today.
Dan Ellis only had to stop 22 shots to record the shutout last night in Calgary... he's been really good lately with a 3-1-0 record in his last four with a 1.26 gaa & .958 but he hasn't started back-to-back games in over 3 weeks... he's a very solid 8-4-0 over his last 12.
Patric Hornqvist had the only goal last night in Calgary and that should come as no surprise as he's been holding the hot stick lately with 12+6=18 in his last 15 games... he had to start scoring soon or later as he's been racking up some respectable shot totals on a pace for over 250.
Injury Updates (see our Injury Updates page for a consolidated list of injuries):
So apparently Pascal Leclaire's latest injury is a concussion, which he suffered in practice the other day when teammate Mike Fisher hit him in the head and knocked him cold... yeah, really. So he's expected to miss a week, maybe longer.
David Krejci missed Thursday's game with an undisclosed injury... he's listed as day-to-day.
What's distracting us today? What is it about the San Jose Sharks that inspires people to sing ridiculously awful songs??? We didn't think it would ever get worse than this dude that we've featured before but we think the following video by someone/thing called LoveMonster gives it a run for its money:
