Dosage Express
Vokoun & Elliott smokin... Roloson implodes... Doughty's huge breakout... give Flash a whirl... Theodore injured... stay off the ledge, Oilers fans

Daily Diarrhea

Vokoun Tomas Vokoun stopped 16 of 17 (nice effort Montreal) and he has just been effing unreal lately... check out his last 10 games: 6-2-2, 1.20 & .963.

Brian Elliott hasn't been too shabby himself as he won his fifth straight last night by shutting out the Devils and has a 1.01 gaa & .964 sv% during the streak.  We upgraded the status of the Sens Crease Conflict the other day and we may have to elevate it further as we can see Elliott grabbing the reins here and not letting go.

Its been a disappointing year for Shane Doan but he rewarded his loyal owners with 1+3=4 last night and has been on a hot streak lately with 3+7=10 in his last five games.

Dwayne Roloson imploded versus the Caps last night giving up four goals on 12 shots and was pulled in the 1st period.  We had been so impressed by his play this year that we thought it would be hard for the Isles to Ricky D back in but despite Roloson still seeing the majority of the starts (5 of 9) since DiPietro's return, Roloson's gone into the shitter by giving up four or more goals in four of his last seven games.

Doughty Drew Doughty continued his unbelievable breakout season last night with another two points and he has 1+11=12 and a plus-8 in his last 10 games... dude is far and away the biggest breakout of the season as he's on pace for 62 points and sits 5th in scoring amongst dmen... if you saw that coming then congrats & you apparently don't need us so why the hell are you reading this?

Johan Hedberg has only given up one goal in four of his past five games (in the other one he gave up four goals on nine shots to the Caps...oops) so he's sporting a 1.77 gaa & .935 sv% over his last five.  We can't recommend any goalie on the Thrashers but if you're in a big pickle, then give him a look.

If you're in dire need of assists or PPP in your roto league then take a look at Anton Stralman as he has six assists (five on the PP) in his last six games.

Two points last night for Tomas Fleischmann gives him a nice stretch with 3+9=12 in his last 11... give Flash a whirl as the Caps play at home three more times this week and then have four games next week as well.

The Flames are desperate for an offensive spark so they've called up 20-year old Swede, Mikael Backlund from the AHL... he's been pretty unimpressive down there so we're not expecting much but he'll probably be given a look on the top line in Calgary.

Injury Updates (see our Injury Updates page for a consolidated list of injuries):

Theodore Jose Theodore left last night's game early with a LBI... and the speculation after the game is that the Caps will need to call up a goalie from the AHL, so it could be serious.

Jack Hillen put his face in front of an Ovechkin slapshot... not good for business... he went to the hospital and is probably still feeling it today... not sure how long he'll be out.

Returning to action from the injured list last night was:  Saku Koivu, Jakub Voracek, Niklas Kronwall, Steve Reinprecht and Dainius Zubrus.

Daily Distraction

What's distracting us today?  Nothing to do with sports but we've been waiting for a chance to post this video of a dude on top of a bridge in China and given that this is probably how a lot of Oilers fans are feeling these days, it seems fitting:

If this was in Edmonton then it would be Kevin Lowe on top of the bridge and Brian Burke who came up for a chat.
