Dosage Express
Another 3-ball for Karlsson... give Regin, EJ & Gilbert a look... C-Mason finishing strong... does Bernier get a run?... Kariya D2D... a Slap Shot remake

Daily Diarrhea

Karlsson Back-to-back three pointers for Erik Karlsson gives him 1+8=9 in his last five games... if that wasn't enough, then six of those points have come via the PP and he's added 8 PIMs & 11 shots in his last five as well.  He seems to be gaining confidence as the season goes on and has seen his ice-time elevated (over 24 minutes last night).

2+2=4 last night for Jason Spezza and he has 3+5=8 in his last three games and also 17+15=32 in 25 games since returning from his knee injury... that seemed to be the turning point in his season as since he came back he's been shooting the puck a lot more and good times followed.

Spezza's new wingman, Peter Regin (see lines on FantasyHockey911), has points in five straight games and goals in four of five... the Dane might be worth a look if you're desperate.

Jose Theodore gave up five last night and took the OTL vs the Senators but he continued his lossless streak as he's now 17-0-3 in his last 21 games.  Despite this, he has given up eight goals on his last 41 shots and you know Coach Bruce has an itchy trigger finger.  We elevated this situation to the top of our Crease Conflicts list yesterday as it looks to get pretty heated.

We mentioned the other day that Erik Johnson has been feeling it lately and with a goal and an assist last night, he's feeling it some more... he's now has 3+4=7 with 15 PIMs and 24 sog in his last eight games.

Steen Big night for Alex Steen with 2+1=3, plus-3 and seven shots last night and he's been rolling in the last half of the season with 16+16=32, plus-13 and 102 shots in 36 games since Jan 1st.

Chris Mason had a crazy finish to last year which lifted the Blues all the way into the playoffs and while its a real longshot that he can repeat that he has won his last three games, only giving up four goals in total, and has put up some solid numbers since Jan 1st: 16-9-3, 2.39 & .920.

Tom Gilbert continued his hot streak last night with two goals and he has 3+3=6 and a plus-6 in his last five games... no word on where this production was in the first 71 games of the year.

Tuukka Rask bounced back after giving up five goals in his last start to shutout the Devils last night... its pretty unreal what the rookie is doing right now as even with that five spot, he's put up a 1.86 gaa & .932 sv% in 11 games in March.

Jonathan Bernier stepped in for the slumping Kings last night and blanked the Predators in their barn.  He's been crazy good in the AHL this year (2.07 & .936) and has now only allowed one goal in his two NHL starts this year (both wins)... with Jonny Quick struggling lately, do they give Bernier a little run of games?

Injury Updates (see our Injury Updates page for a consolidated list of injuries):

Kariya Paul Kariya left last night's game early with a LBI... coach says it's only a day-to-day thing.

Dustin Penner departed last night's game in the 1st period after taking a puck in the chops... no word on how messed up he is.

Pavel Kubina left last night's game in the 2nd period with an undisclosed injury.

Andrew Ebbett has a finger injury which will end his season early (his usefulness ended a while ago) and, as speculated, Josh Harding's hip injury will require surgery and the Wild are shutting him down.

Returning to action from the injured list last night was: Marty Erat, Joel Ward and Kurtis Foster.

Daily Distraction

What's distracting us today?  This remake of the classic scene from Slap Shot that we saw yesterday on Puck Daddy.  Sub in Juraj Simek of the Norfolk Admirals for Denis Lemieux and voila...

Here's the original scene, if you want to do a little side-by-side comparison... I'd say they did a pretty good job.
