Dosage Express

Hawks are Stanley Cup bound... Byfuglien = GWG... Marleau's last game as a Shark?... The Golden Jet with some golden words

Daily Diarrhea

Byfuglien, dustinDustin Byfuglien picked up another game winner.  Lately, we've been pumping Dusty up as a great guy to pick up next year... 50 point / 100 PIM potential is tough to find, after all.  But we're changing gears.  His brilliant playoff (eight goals in his last eight games) should get him way overvalued on draft day.  Remember this is a guy who had one goal in the 27 games before his current hot streak.

Kris Versteeg played one of his best games of the playoffs with 1+1=2 and a +3.  He has nine points in 16 games this post season.

Patrick Marleau picked up a goal in what could be his last game in teal.  You can't blame him for the Shark's loss.  He either scored or assisted on all but one of the goals the Sharks scored against Chicago.

Heatley, danyDany Heatley had only two goals in the playoffs.  We guess his 11 assists are nice but the Sharks didn't pay him (and you didn't draft him) for the helpers.

It's over.  Windsor took home the Memorial Cup last night with a 9-1 thrashing of Brandon.  It was their second Cup win in a row and now you can start debating where this team fits in with the best junior teams of all time.  The next time you hear about Memorial Cup winners like Taylor Hall, Cam Fowler, Ryan Ellis, Zack Kassian and Greg Nemisz it could have something to do with an NHL transaction.

It's also over.  The World Championships ended with a shocker as Tomas Vokoun and the Czech Republic beat the superstar Russian team 2-1.  Vokoun stopped 35 of 36 shots and again proved why he's one of the most underrated goalies in the league.  If he gets out of Florida and onto a decent team... look out.

Injury Updates

Tom Pyatt is day to day with a UBI.  He's not much of a fantasy factor (five points in 40 games this season) but there's isn't much else to talk about in terms of injuries so there you go.

Daily Distraction

What's distracting us today?  Not much tonight as the real world is giving us plenty of distractions but we did see this quote from Bobby Hull when asked what he would do if the Hawks won the cup (via KK):

"If they ever invited me to drink out of that Cup, I’d jump through the rim of my own butt and hang myself just to get another drink out of it."

...rim of your own butt?  Stay off the special sauce Bobby.

Since we're talking about sauce and Bobby Hull... seems like a good time to post the classic Log Cabin Maple Syrup commercial.  Maple Syrup counts as a sauce right?
