Daily Diarrhea

HEADS UP... alright fantasy freaks, the 2010/11 Fantasy Scouting Report hit the shelves last week, so get yourself a copy & win your goddam pool (like these glorious dudes)

Grand-Pierre Not much news from the long weekend unless you're a big fan of former Sabres farmhand Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre as it was announced that he's been loaned from his Swedish team Leksand to TPS in the SM-Liiga... I know, we didn't see that coming.  No honestly there's really not much going on out there, poor choice of days to start back up on the Daily Dosages but what can we say, Labour Day has passed so it's officially the Season of Fantasy Hockey!

We're using our free time to update the FSR and projected stats file with all of the important moves from the past week, should have updated versions ready to share in the next day or two but remember that no matter when you buy you'll always have access to the most up-to-date version.

Seeing as we have a little free time, let's mention one of our favourite lists from the Breakout Bible, the Top 10 Breakout Candidates that are "WTF Picks", by that we mean that there's probably a few GMs in your league that have never heard of these guys so if you choose to throw out their name on draft day, you'll likely get a few "Who the F is that???"... which is always an enjoyable moment. Here's a few names that we think would fit the bill:

Matt Taormina - undrafted FA dman out of Providence was signed to a minor league deal by the Devils and went on to put up 10+40=50 in 75 AHL games last year, good for 7th among both AHL dmen and rookies... he might not even get a sniff in New Jersey this year but his chances could be better after they purge some contracts due to the Kovy signing.

Sergei Bobrovsky - the 21-year old Russian was signed as a FA by the Flyers over the summer after three years in the RSL/KHL and has handled himself quite well (.901, .927 & .919 sv% the past three seasons).  Now he's expected to start the year in the AHL but would anyone really be shocked by him getting a shot with the Flyers at some point this year???... would anyone really be shocked by anything that happens with the Flyers & their goalies this year???

Jerome Samson - was a 1st Team AHL All-Star last year after 43+44=87 & 362 shots in 82 games (regular & playoffs) and with Carolina in need of some offensive spark, he could be given a chance to surprise this year.

Daily Distraction

What's distracting us today?

Via Kukla's Korner comes these little nuggets from Lightning goalie Dan Ellis on Twitter yesterday...

If you lost 18% of your income would you be happy? I can honestly say that I am more stressed about money now then when I was in college.

I can’t explain it and I never thought it would be the case but it is true. $ in no way makes u more happy or makes life much easier.

If you don’t make a lot of money I don’t expect u to understand in the same way I could never understand what it is like to risk my life daily as a fire fighter or police officer...especially not a soldier. There r pros and cons to every profession. U r kidding yourself if u think money makes things any easier.

Seems like Danny has a bad case of the mo' money, mo' problems blues... say a prayer for him, will ya.
