Injury Updates - Oct 19th, 2010

For a consolidated list of injuries & current status, see our Injury Updates page.

Matthew Lombardi's injury went from originally being called an LBI to a UBI and has now been called a concussion... that's some injury!  He's resting now and is going to be re-evaluated next week.

Josh Bailey, our breakout player of the first week of the season, left last night's game early due to a hip injury... figures.  Coach Gordon said after the game that the injury was "Not too bad"... so he's likely just day-to-day.

Vinny Lecavalier sat out last night's game with the hand injury which is apparently a little more serious than first reported... but he's still not likely out much longer.

As pointed out yesterday by Broadwaybully, Marcel Goc is out 2-4 weeks with a separated shoulder... hopefully this doesn't kill your season.

Ondrej Pavelec is back practicing and if he passes a test today, he could be cleared to play, so good news there.

Rene Bourque practiced yesterday and has been cleared to return tonight but he'll be a game-time decision.

Jonathan Ericsson's back injury is a bulging disc and he hasn't been on the ice since opening night... it sounds like he'll be out a few more weeks, at least.

Here's some (relative) good news... Vinny Prospal was originally thought to be out for the season with his knee injury but he had surgery on Monday that is only expected to keep him out for 6-8 weeks... so the season may not be a write-off just yet.

Not an injury but Shane Doan will miss the next three games due to a suspension for blindsiding Dan Sexton.

Returning to action from the injured list last night:  Erik Christensen & Vladimir Sobotka.
