Injury Updates - Oct 20th, 2010

For a consolidated list of injuries & current status, see our Injury Updates page.

Ryan Suter left last night's game after one shift with a knock on his knee.  Trotz said afterwards that it wasn't too serious but that he "may miss some time".  Not sure what his definition of "some time" is but it could be a few weeks.

Michal Neuvirth left last night's game due to the influenza but not until he gave up two goals in seven minutes.  On top of it, apparently Coach Bruce didn't even know that he wasn't feeling well heading into the game... that's not going to win the coach over.  Semyon Varlamov filled in, making his season debut, and stopped 13 of 14 the rest of the way.  Look for Varlamov to get the start in their next game and have a chance to prove that he's the #1.

Dan Hamhuis sat out last night's game due to a foot injury, his status is day-to-day.

Kris Russell is questionable for tonight's game due to a LBI.  It's apparently not the same knee injury that caused him to miss the opener, something different, but it doesn't sound too serious.

Returning to action from the injured list last night:  Rene Bourque, Brent Burns, Pekka Rinne, Martin Erat & Tom Poti
