Daily Dosage - Dec 19th, 2010

Yowzers, quite a night for Eric Staal with the natural hat-trick, 2 PPGs, GWG, 2 PIMs & 10 sogs... it's scary to think of what this guy could do with better linemates.

Dustin Brown extended his point streak to seven games last night and he has 2+9=11 during the run... he's a great all-around option as he's on pace for a career high 68 points with 90 PIMs & 243 shots.  He also looks like he'll be a plus player for the first time in his career as he's currently a plus-12.

Daniel Sedin has his point streak up to 10 games now where he has 4+10=14 & a plus-8.  He's not getting a ton of hype right now but he's tied for fourth in league scoring with 38 points through 30 games.

Boom goes the dynamite... Logan Couture with another two goals last night and he has 9+2=11, plus-8 and 30 shots over his last 10 games.  He now leads rookies in goals, points, PPGs, GWGs, shots and pure awesomeness.

ATL tough guy Eric Boulton with the hat-trick last night... congrats to him but don't bother giving him a look, he's not worthy... but this does illustrate how the Thrashers are getting contributions from a lot of different sources this year.  Chris Thorburn is another unlikely fantasy option but he had 1+2=3 & a plus-4 last night and has 1+5=6 over his last five games.

T-Bay's Mike Smith has back-to-back wins while stopping 49 of 51 shots... so if you're feeling lucky and want to throw a goalie with a 3.20 gaa & .883 sv% in your lineup, then he might be your guy.

It had to happen eventually... Anders Lindback was roughed up for only the second time this year as gave up three goals on nine shots to the Kings last night and was pulled after nine minutes.  Rinne should be back soon but we still think Lindback has built a solid case to see a greater portion of the starts.

Steve Sullivan scored for Nashville and he's been solid lately with 4+5=9 over his last 10 games.  He left last night's game early though and didn't play in the 3rd period, not sure why yet.

Jonathan Bernier with his first start in nine games and he only allowed one goal on 30 shots to beat Nashville last night and that stopped a personal three game losing streak... thought all you keeper leaguers who are patiently waiting for this guy would like to know.

Antero Niittymaki with wins in back-to-back games as he stopped 21 of 22 to beat St.Loo last night.  This one looks like it's going to go back & forth all year.

Three goals in two games for Devin Setoguchi and maybe he's starting to wake up this year... surely you can get him for next to nothing so give him a look if you're grasping for straws.

Mikhail Grabovski with another goal last night and he has 6+1=7 over his last seven games.  The key for him this year is that he's shooting the puck a lot more, on pace for 212 this year.

Nikolay Zherdev with two goals yesterday and he's been engaged lately with 5+1=6 over his last five games.  He's worth a look for a short-term add but he's been in-and-out of Laviolette's doghouse and that's likely to continue.

Despite a strong performance from Bobrovsky last game, Brian Boucher got the call again for the Flyers (4th time in the past 5 games)... he won his fourth in a row and hasn't given up more than two goals in any of his last six games.  I still have no clue what the Flyers have planned here... not sure they know either.

Shane Doan with two assists last night and he has 3+9=12 over his last 11 games and six of those points have come on the PP.

Zach Boychuk was called up by the Hurricanes yesterday and got into his first NHL game of the season, although he only played five minutes.  He is tied for 3rd in AHL scoring with 10+22=32 in 28 games and has 3+13=16 in his last 10 games.

Your notable healthy scratches last night were: Scottie Upshall & Nazem Kadri.
