Sorry this is a bit late I was having some technical difficulties

Ilya Bryzgalov missed his third straight game with a combination Flu/UBI.  I can't find anything official on when he'll be back but it sounds like it shouldn't be too long... possibly by the next game.

Cam Ward missed last night's game with a 'mild infection' on his forehead.  Ward has been one of the hotter goalies in the league over the last month so hopefully this doesn't keep him out long.  Sounds like he'll be back for the next game.

Mike Smith hurt his knee in the morning practice and will miss about two weeks of action.  The Bolts have recalled Cedrick Desjardins to replace him in the lineup. Coach Guy Boucher knows Desjardins well as he was his goalie last year in Hamilton.  He has some good AHL numbers last year (29-9 with a 2.00 gaa and .919 sv%) but is a little more ordinary this season (2.63 & 0.900).  It wouldn't surprise me if the Bolts gave him quite a few starts as Ellis has struggled (although he was solid last night).  If Desjardins starts strong and plays well over the next two weeks it would be tough for the Bolts to send him back down over the ineffective Smith/Ellis.  If you're desperate for a goalie give him a shot.

If you noticed Ryan Malone playing only 9:29 last night it's because he left early with a UBI.  He's expected to not miss any action so proceed as normal.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere went to a specialist for his sore groin... imagine being a doctor and being a groin specialist.  Anyway, sounds like he'll be out 1-2 weeks at least but this is sounding quite serious.  We could be seeing a whole lot of The Monster.

Douglas Murray is expected to rejoin the Sharks tonight... although that's probably not important news to you fantasy players out there.

Vinny Prospal participated in a full practice for the first time since his injury.  No word on when he'll return but Torts estimated mid-January.

Returning to action last night: Chris Kunitz, Alex Pietrangelo and Roman Polak
