My lord, the Hawks Bryan Bickell had a goal and was plus-3 last night... he's been really surprising me lately with 6+3=9 & a plus-6 over his last eight games. I'm not entirely sure how he's doing it... he is seeing quite a bit of ice-time with Kane, Hossa & Stalberg out but has 10 goals on only 45 shots and this dude had 16 goals (in 65 games) in the AHL last season.
Brian Rafalski had 3A last night and has assists in four straight games... he has 21 points in 23 games and is 2nd among dmen in ppg (.91), trailing only Byfuglien.
Jeff Tambellini with a sweet goal (& six shots) last night and while he hasn't been too consistent, he does have a decent 5+4=9 & plus-5 over his last 12 games since being re-called.
Dan Cleary with two points last night and he has 3+4=7 over his last seven games. I don't think he'll keep this up but he looks like he'll surprise this year as he's on pace for 37 goals & 233 shots whereas his career highs were 20 & 177.
Corey Crawford with three straight solid wins as he's stopped 79 of 83 shots to rack up wins over DET, LA & NSH. He's now 10-2-1 in his last 13 games and improved his averages to 2.30 & .916.
Sidney Crosby extended his point streak to 22 games last night with a goal, plus-2 and eight bloody shots... he's at or near the top of the league in pretty much all the main categories and obviously has his eyes on the fantasy Hart Trophy this year.
John Tavares had his first goal in 10 games last night but he now has points in three straight (1+3=4). He's on pace for 50 points right now, close to what he did last year but I'd expect him to improve over the 2nd half, especially with Okposo returning.
A goal last night from Stephen Weiss and he has 4+5=9 over his last seven games... I like him as a reliable secondary option, not a ton of upside but you know what you're getting with him as he's the #1C in FLA, will play solid minutes and give you somewhere around 60 points.
The Islanders re-called Josh Bailey from the AHL yesterday after he went 6+11=17 in 11 games. So he should have his confidence back but unfortunately NHL teams are a little harder to score on than AHL teams.
The Rangers have called up Mats Zuccarello from Hartford where he's been pretty productive with 11+11=22 in his last 20 games but we're still pretty skeptical about his upside.
Mikkel Boedker has been called up by the Coyotes, he has 8+18=26 in 31 AHL games this year but doesn't seem like a great fit in Dave Tippett's system.
