Daily Dosage - Dec 27th, 2010

Sorry this is waaay late today, I'm sure you'd all love to hear my excuses (family, travel, other distractions, etc.) but I really need to get going with this... things should be back to normal tomorrow...

The Kings have been rolling this month (8-3-0) and Jack Johnson is a big reason as he's been getting it done on the PP with six PPPs and 2+5=7 over his last seven games.  He's also been improving his typically horrid plus/minus as he's a plus-6 over his last seven and up to a minus-2 on the season.

Dwayne Roloson with a 38 save one-out of the Habs last night and he now has three straight wins and a .972 sv% during the streak.  Take a look at Rollie-the-Goalie if you're really desperate but I would not be counting on him for long stretches, hell even during these three wins he's faced an average of 36.3 shots/gm.

Bryan Bickell upped his point streak to six games last night and has 6+4=10 over his past nine games... he still played 16 mins last night even with Hossa & Stalberg returning, we'll see if he can keep his ice-time once Kane returns.

Day 1 of the WJC brought a big win by Canada over the Russians and Brayden Schenn (1+1=2 & 5 shots) and Ryan Johansen (GWG & 7 shots) were two for Canada that looked dangerous... the US pulled out an OT win over Finland with Nick Bjugstad getting the winner and two prospects who are having impressive freshmen seasons, Justin Faulk & Jason Zucker, also scored.

Wow, we didn't think things could get worse for the Devils but Marty Brodeur has given up eight goals on 28 shots in Jackie Lemaire's first two games, which were losses to the Islanders & Leafs... yikes.  Things are completely off the rails in Newark.

Goals in back-to-back games for Vincent Lecavalier as he potted two last night and has 3+2=5 over his last five... we're on the fence with this guy as he looks like a shadow of the player he once was.

Jeff Tambellini has singles in his last five games (3+2=5) and he's been pretty solid with 14 points & a plus-7 over 20 games this year, so he's worth a look in deeper leagues.

Erik Karlsson had a three-pointer last night and has really been rolling lately with 4+7=11 over his last nine games and he's been working on his biggest weakness, the plus/minus, as he's a plus-7 over his last seven games.

Brian Elliott stopped 44 of 45 Penguin's shots for the victory and that's two straight wins with only one goal allowed in each... could this be the start of another of his patented runs?... I bloody hope so.

Blake Comeau with another goal last night and he has 4+4=8 over his last seven games... dude is real streaky so you should participate and enjoy while it lasts.

With a PPG last night, James Wisniewski extended his point streak to five games (1+4=5)... so hopefully you didn't sour on the Wiz.

If your league uses PIMs-per-second as a stats category, then I hope you had Eric Godard in your lineup last night as he racked up 15 PIMs while only seeing 16 second of ice-time... um, bravo.

Haven't heard much from Cal O`Reilly lately and that's because he doesn't have a point in eight games and doesn't do much of anything else, even on a good day.

The Preds called up Linus Klasen and he got into his second NHL game last night but was pointless in 16 minutes of ice-time.
