1+1=2 for Derek Stepan last night and he has a four game goal streak going... I liked this kid's long-term potential but wasn't buying into the pre-season hype or even after he had the hat-trick in the opener but now I must say that I'm very impressed that he's stuck around, seems to be one of Torts' favourites and is producing consistently.  I'd highly recommend that you target him at the trade deadline if you're in the unfortunate position of building for the future in keeper/dynasty leagues.

Sweet night for Dustin Brown with two goals, plus-3 & seven shots... he's been burning up lately with 7+12=19 & a plus-11 over his last 12 games.

Jiri Hudler saw more ice-time last night (15:54) than he's seen in a few months and he had 1+1=2 (both on the PP).  I'd grab him if he's on your wire as he should see more ice-time with better linemates while Datsyuk & Cleary are out... worth a shot.

Dwayne Roloson followed up his NHL 1st Star of the Week selection by giving up seven goals last night and a few were of the awful variety.  He did face 52 shots, so the D didn't help him out that much but this is what you get if you were one of those people that rushed out to get him over the past week.

Jonathan Quick recorded his third shutout in his last six games last night and he improved on his already stellar numbers (18-7-1, 1.86 & .932)... not to take anything away from him but the Kings are playing extremely stingy lately as over his last 13 games Quick has only faced more than 30 shots once and he's seen less than 25 shots seven times.

A pat on the pants to you if you were patient with Drew Doughty as you're now seeing the rewards as he's 1+9=10, plus-10 with 14 shots over his last eight games.

John Tavares quietly has a six game point streak going where he has 2+5=7, plus-3 & 24 shots... the Islanders can't be as bad as they were in November but I also don't think they're as good as they've been over the past two weeks (winning four of six).

P.A. Parenteau with a goal last night and he has 4+3=7 over his last six games... someone on the Islanders has to get some points, so he's worth a look if you're in a deep league.

More great stuff from Brian Boyle as he had 1+2=3 last night and he's really chipping in across the board lately (except in PPPs) with 2+6=8, plus-6 & 20 shots over his last six games.

Matt Gilroy stepped up as Del Zotto was scratched again and Gilroy had two goals last night.  I'd pass on him, he has some skills (he's a great skater) but he's never been one of Torts' favourites and odds are he finds his way back to the pressbox before too long.

Nicklas Lidstrom with four PPPs last night for his second four pointer in the past 12 days... he's up to 2nd in scoring among dmen and is pushing Byfuglien hard.

Congrats to Chris Osgood on his 400th win last night and it was well deserved as he stopped 46 of 49 shots to beat the Avs... but I still wouldn't go anywhere near him in any league.

Olli Jokinen continued his hot streak as he had two points last night and has 6+3=9 with 31 shots over his last nine games... likely not sustainable but he's certainly got the ability to put up more than his current 43 point pace.

With Roy finished and Connolly out for a bit, this means that Luke Adam will get a run of games in Buffalo... he played a season high 13:57 last night but was centering the 3rd line, whereas Niedermayer & Hecht played on scoring lines.

Jakub Voracek was a healthy scratch for the CBJs last night, not surprising as he only has 1+5=6 over his last 15 games.  We weren't thrilled with the Scott Arniel hire but at the least we thought he'd make the young kids better but other than a little spark from Brassard, guys like Voracek, Filatov, Russell & Mason have all struggled under Arniel.

The Sharks have scratched Justin Braun for two straight games... so when everyone's healthy (they dressed seven dmen last night), Braun's the odd man out.
