Something tells me that's not the stick Pat used to notch the hat-trick last night... this would be like me bringing a crappy old hat to the game and throwing it on the ice for a hat-trick instead of the one I'm wearing.

Mentioned Patrice Bergeron's hot streak yesterday but didn't see his hat-trick last night coming as he now has 8+9=17 & a plus-10 over his last 13 games.

Scott Hartnell with the Gordie Howe Hat-Trick plus last night as he went over and above adding a second goal... he now has 6+1=7 over his last six games.

Hopefully you knew this is what you were buying into with Jose Theodore... he seemed to be all the rage over the past week but has now allowed four goals in each of his past two games and 4+ goals in three of his last six, so treat his little four game win streak for what it was... a little streak of good fortune.

Kevin Bieksa with another goal last night and he's been rock solid lately with 4+5=9, plus-12, 10 PIMs & 22 shots over his last nine games.  Impressively, he's doing it without top PP unit time as only one of his last nine points has come on the PP.

If you're a Brian Elliott owner, I have to apologize and if it's any consolation, I'm feeling your pain... I was very high on this coming into this season (own him in two leagues) but he hasn't delivered and has been just horrid lately (despite starting 10 in a row) 2-6-4, 3.60 & .877 over his last 13 games.  Looks like things in Ottawa are just going to get worse from here, if it's possible to go any lower???

I mentioned yesterday that Tim Thomas hadn't been as hot lately as he was to start the year (hard to do) but with a 31 save shutout last night, now he hasn't lost in regulation over his last seven games going 4-0-3 and still easily leads the league in gaa (1.77) and sv% (.946).

Not a fan but Erik Cole has goals in three straight and 4+2=6 over his last five games.

Mike Santorelli of the Panthers had a goal on five shots last night and he now has points in seven of his last eight games (3+4=7)... he's worth a look in deeper leagues.

The Islanders Kevin Poulin stopped 48 of 51 shots but lost in the shootout last night.  This guy has looked good in his three NHL games so far but let's not get carried away like some other people are... may I remind you that he plays for the Islanders and that while 48 saves is impressive, HE FACED 51 SHOTS!  I don't care if the Islanders roll Billy Smith out there, I don't want anything to do with their goalies.

Blake Comeau's production usually comes in patches, so worth noting that he seems to be on a hot patch right now with 3+2=5 over his last four games.

Wojtek Wolski was pointless in his Rangers debut but he had 19:39 of ice-time which is almost exactly three times as much as he played in his last game with Phoenix.  He saw some PP time and was on the top line with Gaborik (but only managed one shot)... so there's some positives to take away about his situation.

Seems like all the big guns on Dallas are rolling lately... among them, Mike Ribeiro extended his point streak to seven games last night where he has 3+5=8 and Loui Eriksson has an eight gamer going where he has 1+9=10 to pull himself up to 8th in league scoring with 47 pts.

Michal Neuvirth got his first start in six games for the Caps and while he wasn't terrible (four goals on 41 shots) he lost (in OT) and that's not something that Varlamov has done much of lately so look for the Russian to be back in there shortly.

James Reimer stopped 40 of 42 to beat the Sharks and pick up his fourth win in five starts.... as I said yesterday, look for the Leafs to ride him as long as he is hot.

Goals in four straight games for Phil Kessel and at least six shots in five straight is a good indication that Philly's feeling it lately... he has 7+4=11 in his last eight games.

Assists in three straight for Tyler Bozak and he's having a nice stretch feeding the puck to Kessel with 3+4=7 in his last eight games.

Miikka Kiprusoff was pulled last night after allowing four goals on eight shots and his sv% over the past month is a pretty terrible .872 but he's actually been winning some games going 6-3-1 over the past month.  How does that happen?... well the Flames have really been keeping the shots down but Kipper has been pretty leaky lately.

The Red Wings have sent Tomas Tatar back to the AHL after one point in five games.

The Blues have acknowledged that they have some interest in Kyle Wellwood... we would advise you to not share their interest.
