I watched about a minute of the All-Star Game yesterday, flipped it on and one team had a 3-on-0 so I turned it off (I assume they scored)... what a joke.
Having said that, I will be checking out the AHL All-Star Game tonight as those guys tend to try a little harder and it's a good way to see a bunch of prospects in one place, especially the guys who haven't seen much action in the NHL this year like Viatcheslav Voynov (top scoring dman in league & fastest skater at skills competition), Paul Postma (2nd in scoring amongst dmen), Erik Gustafsson (leads rookie dmen in scoring), Linus Klasen (top scoring first year player) and Mark Olver (2nd in rookie goals).
The real games start up again tomorrow and there should be good news for some GMs as the Rangers are hoping to have Dan Girardi (ribs) and Ryan Callahan (hand) back in the lineup on Tuesday.
The Red Wings are expecting to get Pavel Datsyuk (hand) and Danny Cleary (ankle) back from rehab for their first post-break game on Wednesday.
Jordan Eberle is getting closer to returning after missing the last 12 with an ankle injury but we're not sure if he's quite ready yet.
The news ain't so good on Marc Savard as they really have no idea when (or if) he'll return but they expect him to miss at least a month due to his latest concussion.
