Friday's Daily Dosage - Fisher, Forsberg, Anderson...

New, 5 comments

So Mike Fisher to Nashville for some picks (including a 1st)... wow, bit steep for an overpaid 2nd/3rd line C who has only topped 50 points once in his 10 seasons. People seem to be excited about this as they think he's going to light it up in Nashville but I don't see it. He could see a bump right away and it shouldn't be hard to increase on his current 34 point pace, but if you expect anything more than a 50 point pace the rest of the way, then I think you're setting yourself up to be disappointed. Nashville is not a very good offensive team (26th in goals scored & 25th in PP%) and I think this guy is a 40-something point player who got lucky last year.

Peter Forsberg has sorted out his immigration issues and is "ready" to play... and so it begins, he could play tonight but they won't say for sure until after the morning skate and this guy's status should be permanently listed as "questionable" as you never know what could happen with him.

Craig Anderson has left the team and returned to Denver for personal reasons... they're saying his status will be evaluated day-to-day.  More when we know more.

Another great game for Michael Grabner with 2G, plus-2 & six shots and I have to apologize as I was telling people to lay off this guy when his streak started but now he has 10+5=15, plus-9 & 47 shots over his last 12 games.

James Reimer with another solid outing as he stopped 37 of 39 but took the OTL.  The Leafs are forcing him to face a lot of rubber (33.9/60mins) but the kid doesn't appear to rattle easily as he's only give up more than three goals in two of his 12 appearances so far.

Nikolai Kulemin extended his point streak with a goal last night... he now has 5+3=8 & plus-5 over a six game stretch.  He doesn't shoot a lot but he's been converting at a high rate on the season (16.5%) so I'd say that he'll have a hard time keeping it up.

Joffrey Lupul was scoreless in his Leafs debut but did see 18 minutes of ice with 4:09 on the PP, so you can expect to see a bump in his numbers, assuming that continues.

Also debuting for his new team (FLA) last night was Jack Skille and he played 17:45 with some PP time after averaging 10:44/gm with virtually no PP time in Chicago.  So he should see some more production but I wouldn't be in a hurry to pick him up as this guy has a long way to go before he's fantasy worthy.

Tomas Plekanec with a goal last night and he has 7+7=14 over his last 14 games... also of note is that he's on pace for a career high 243 shots this year and has actually even increased that rate with 52 shots over his last 14 games.

A goal on seven shots last night for Max Pacioretty and hopefully you're all climbing aboard as this train is leaving the station... he now has 6+4=10, 14 PIMs & 35 shots over his last nine games and seems to have found a home on a line with Plekanec & Gionta.

Tyler Myers with two points last night including the winner in OT and he's been picking it up lately with 2+5=7 & a plus-6 over his last eight games.  He started the year with 5+3=8 in his first 27 games and now he has 2+14=16 over his last 24.

Mikko Koskinen stopped 37 of 40 to pick up his first NHL win over the Habs last night... I don't go near Islanders goalies, especially rookies, super-especially guys that can't handle the AHL... so I'll be passing.

Tampa has called Johan Harju back up as they could be without Ryan Malone for a while... Harju has been looking good in the AHL with 35 pts in 40 gms and we'd like to see what he can do with some decent ice-time in the NHL.
