Saturday's Daily Dosage - Forsberg, Frolik, Fowler...

Forsberg looked good and might have hit the scoresheet last night if it wasn't for a curse that this balding fatty put on him

Peter Forsberg played 17:38 in his comeback game last night but couldn't register a point.  I caught the first period of the game and have to say that Foppa looked very good... he should be able to put up some points for as long as he stays healthy (which probably won't be very long).

Michael Frolik made his debut for the Hawks playing 17 minutes on a line with Kopecky (and hopefully Hossa eventually)... he had five shots but was held without a point.

I had my doubts about Cam Fowler coming into this season as it's typically challenging for a teen-aged dman to be very productive but he's being getting better as the year goes on with 4+7=11, eight PPPs & 24 shots (and a minus-4) over his last 13 games.  Why this kid is not getting more Calder hype is beyond me.

Lots of points & PIMs in the Isles-Pens game, what caught my eye was the Gordie Howe hat-trick by Travis Hamonic, who finished with 1+2=3, plus-2 & 17 PIMs.  Jay & I own him in a keeper league and are liking the upside but, of course, we left him on the bench this week... it's just been one of those weeks.

Lost in all the frackus of the Isles-Pens game was a few offensive players shining... Michael Grabner with 2+1=3, plus-3 & eight shots, he has goals in four straight and 12+6=18 in his last 14 games... John Tavares with a four-point night and he's got a four game point streak going with 10+14=24 in his last 20 games.

Mikko Koskinen stopped 35 of 38 for his second straight win for the Islanders... he's given up three goals in each of his three games so far while facing 34.7 shots/gm... other than that, he looks great.

Evander Kane with two late goals (including the GWG) for a three point night and he has 3+3=6 over his last four games... he may be under-the-radar a little bit as he's on pace for close to 50 pts with 79 PIMs & 232 shots, not bad for a teenager.

No effing clue where this is coming from but Robyn Regehr is on a five game point streak where he has more points (1+6=7) then he had in the first 49 games this season (0+6=6).  He's getting a little PP time but that's not really what's driving this (he has one PPP this season).  He'll be a popular add in deep leagues but this little run won't last.

Curtis Glencross with 1+1=2 & six shots last night while playing a season high 21:45... that's back-to-back two pointers and 6+3=9 over his last nine games.

Teemu Selanne with 1+3=4 last night and he's been on fire with 2+9=11 over his last six games, unbelievable stuff from the 40-year old.  Teemu's buddy, Saku Koivu has been along for the ride as he has 2+6=8 over the last six.

1+2=3 for Jiri Hudler last night and while he only has points in four of his last nine games he does have 2+7=9 during that stretch.  A little more consistency and sticking on a line with Datsyuk would certainly help his cause.

Brad Boyes is a streaky goal scorer but he's turned into a streaky playmaker lately with 1+10=11 over his last eight games.

Tuukka Rask gave up five goals on 19 shots and was pulled after two periods... earlier in the year he was playing well but just wasn't getting the goal-support but he's been pretty awful lately going 1-3-0, 4.19 & .876 over his last four games.

The Canucks sent Cody Hodgson back to the AHL after not seeing that much ice-time and putting up 1+1=2 in five games.
