Monday's Daily Dosage - Boyes, Calvert, Brodeur...

Buffalo acquires Boyes, hopefully they asked for his scoring touch to be included as well

We'll make this quick so we can get to breaking down the deadline deals...

The Sabres swapped a pick to the Blues for Brad Boyes... I'm a fan of his and thought he's bounceback this year after a poor season last year but he's struggled again this year with only 12 goals so far.  He's picked it up after a slow start with 6+20=26 over his last 30 games but this guy is paid to snipe goals and he seems to have lost his touch.  I'll be hoping for it but I'm not counting on a big surge from him in Buffalo.

Matt Calvert followed up his hat-trick last game with another PPG last night, that's 6+2=8 during a four game goal streak but he still only saw 12 minutes of ice-time yesterday.

The fantasy stat-line of the night goes to Shea Weber with 1+1=2, plus-1, eight PIMs & three shots.

Martin Brodeur returned after sitting out the last eight games due to that knee injury and stopped 25 of 26 to pick up the win.  The injury may have scared some people off (it did in one of my leagues) but don't forget that he's now 9-1-1, 1.71 & .936 over his last 12 games.

Vincent Lecavalier with a PPG yesterday and he has 7+5=12 over his last nine games, although that five-point game makes him look a little hotter than he is.

I'm a Pavel Kubina owner and fan but I'm ready to drop him as he only has 1A & 10 shots over his last 12 games.

Jonathon Blum scored his first NHL goal last night and, as we mentioned the other day, the trade of Sulzer has given Blum a spot in the lineup for the foreseeable future (barring Nashville picking up a dman today).

Signs of life from Kris Russell as he had a PPG last night and has 2+3=5 (3 PPPs) over his last five games.  Lots of potential here and maybe history will show that I'm too early with this call but I've given up on him.

Mikkel Boedker extended his point streak to four games (6A) with a pair of PPAs last night.  I'm still not sure that he's in the clear and has nailed down a permanent spot in the lineup (he played 13 minutes last night) but there's some real positive signs here.

Milan Lucic is enjoying the Bruins Western Canadian roadie as he had another nice game with 1A, 5 PIMs & 5 shots last night.

Pretty easy 15 save win for Tuukka Rask over the Oilers last night and that gives him wins in his last three starts (NYI, OTT & EDM)... that's good to see but I don't think Tim Thomas' starting job is in danger here.

Miikka Kiprusoff with the 27 save shutout last night and he's been a workhorse lately starting the past 16 games for the Flames, he's a very tidy 11-2-3, 1.91 & .933 during that stretch.

David Jones with another goal last night and he has 7+1=8 over his last 10 games.  That's 23 goals from him on a 19.2% s% this year, we just want to see him shoot the puck more.

Ben Bishop with another solid start as he only allowed one goal on 20 shots but took a loss against the Flames.  We'll see what happens with Conklin today before trying to figure out if Bishop is sticking in the NHL for a while.

Nothing last night for Andy McDonald but I didn't realize he came in so hot with 5+8=13 in 10 games prior to last night.

2003 1st rounder Hugh Jessiman made his NHL debut yesterday for Florida, so for those of you that have held onto him for all these years, time to reap the rewards!!!... the Huge Specimen has arrived!!!

Dustin Jeffrey was sent to the AHL but it's expected that he'll be back up shortly.
