Sunday's Injury Updates - Malkin, Hiller, Comeau...

New, 4 comments

For a consolidated list of injuries & current status, see our Injury Updates page.

As we mentioned yesterday, Evgeni Malkin is done for the season with a torn ACL & MCL.  People are saying that this helps Jordan Staal but I don't see it as his value came from the possibility of him playing with Malkin but what's their top line now?... Kunitz-Staal-Dupuis?... meh.  One player this should help is Dustin Jeffrey as they'll lean on him to provide some offense, especially while Crosby remains out.

This is a little concerning... Jonas Hiller is feeling a little off, here's what he said last night:

(I'm) a little worn down, a little lightheaded. It's weird. I don't know. It doesn't seem right. I was hoping it would get better from one day to the next but it didn't happen.

Hopefully he'll be fine with some rest but I don't like it.

Blake Comeau suffered a concussion on Wednesday that wasn't really detected until Friday... he's out indefinitely.

Matt Cullen missed last night's game due to a UBI... he's day-to-day.

James Wisniewski sat out last night's game due to the flu.

Returning to action from the injured list last night:  David Jones, Cam Barker, Steve Sullivan, Milan Jurcina, Erik Christensen & Jason Spezza.
