Sunday's Daily Dosage - Purcell, Roloson, Couture...

Another yanking for Dwayne Roloson yesterday as he didn't make it out of the 1st period after giving up three goals on nine shots.  Mike Smith provided excellent relief as he stopped all 21 shots he faced to lead the Bolts to victory.  It hasn't been a vintage series for Roloson but I'd expect him to be back in there for game #5.

Two big goals for Teddy Purcell to spark the comeback yesterday and the Newfie is having a whale of a playoffs with 4+11=15 & plus-8 over his last 12 games.  He had a breakout season this year with 51 points but could this playoff performance be foreshadowing an even bigger follow-up?

Simon Gagne with a big night day with 1+2=3, GWG, plus-4 & two PIMs.

Two goals for Patrice Bergeron yesterday but his return still hasn't helped get Brad Marchand and Mark Recchi going as they were pointless again yesterday and have no points, a minus-7 & just 10 shots in the series.

Michael Ryder with a goal yesterday to extend his point streak to five games (3+4=7).

Sean Bergenheim kept the dream alive with his playoff leading ninth goal yesterday... he's still shooting at a 20.5% clip in the post-season.

Steve Downie left yesterday's game after getting hit into the boards... a bit of a weird play but I think Downie's face may have hit the ice on the way down and he likely suffered a concussion.  The team says he is day-to-day but it could be longer.

Good news here as Logan Couture was back at practice yesterday after leaving Friday's game with a head injury.

17-year-old goalie Jordan Binnington with the 29 save shutout last night to give Owen Sound a tidy 5-nil win over Kootenay in their Memorial opener.  The (very) silver lining on the win was that their star, Joey Hishon, left the game after taking an elbow to the head.
