It's a news-lite Sunday in fantasyland... enjoy your day of rest
How Sidney Crosby is feeling on a day-to-day basis is surely going to be one of the stories of the summer... the latest is that he's expected to visit a concussion specialist in Pittsburgh over the next week or so and is hoping to be cleared to begin his offseason workout routine. We'll give you an update the minute his plane lands in Pittsburgh and will have a full profile of the Doctor tomorrow.
Not really fantasy news but it could help the Canucks in the final... Manny Malhotra has been cleared to return to the lineup after being out since March 16th due to a scary eye injury. I'd expect him to just see limited minutes at first but he'll probably get out there for some important draws.
Bobby Butler scored his 12th goal of the playoffs (in his 19th game) and Robin Lehner stopped 28 of 29 shots as the Bingo Sens beat Houston in OT to tie up the Calder Cup final.
The KHL held it's draft yesterday and it's always good for a laugh to see who some of the teams are dreaming of... if the NHL goes on strike in a few years then Vityaz Chekhov could have a decent team as they loaded up on future NHLers like Jonathan Huberdeau (5th overall), 16-year-old Matt Dumba (3rd round) and 2011 draft eligible Mark McNeill (5th round).
There's been some confusion that Calle Jarnkrok has turned down Detroit's contract offer but that's just administrative stuff, nothing to worry about... I'm sure the Wings will get him signed before June 1, 2012 and the kid is looking like a good one after leading the SEL in points by a U20 player with 11+16=27 in 49 games this season.
