Unfortunately the Avs will have to keep Hishon behind the curtain for a while

Bad news here as Joey Hishon is not at Avs rookie camp (per Adrian Dater) as he still has symptoms from the concussion he suffered at the Memorial Cup.  Man, that's not cool... we're really high on this kid and have him ranked #19 in the Fantasy Prospects DB so let's hope he can get back to 100% soon.

Preds product Craig Smith has wrapped up the Rookie Tournament season scoring championship with two more goals yesterday and from listening to GM David Poile, it sounds like he's a shoe-in for the Rookie Tournament Hall of Fame (via Josh Cooper @ The Tennessean):

He was as dominant a player I’ve seen in a rookie tournament in all the years I’ve been with the Predators. Everything is pointing towards a player who has a tremendous amount of potential and I can’t wait to see him play some preseason games with the Predators.

Adnan from Silver Seven was at the Sens-Leafs rookie game last night (4-3 Sens win) and was impressed with both Stephane Da Costa & Mika Zibanejad... both scored and Adnan caught up with Coach Kurt Kleinendorst afterwards for his impression of the two prospects [game notes].

Ty Rattie with 2+2=4 as the Blues prospects beat up on Dallas 6-1 [boxscore].  We had Rattie at #11 amongst 2011 draft eligible prospects in the DB and think he'll show a lot more this season if he gets a larger role in Portland.

The Oilers beat the Jets 2-nil... shutout for Tyler Bunz [boxscore].

Hurricanes beat the Rangers 4-3 [boxscore], an assist for our boy Ryan Murphy and also another for Tim Erixon, who is doing nothing to hurt his chances at making the big club with 1+3=4 in three games so far.

The Red Wings rookies beat the Sabres 5-2 [boxscore], 2011 4th round pick Marek Tvrdon with 2+1=3 to lead the way.

Per his agent, Kyle Turris won't attend Coyotes training camp unti he has a contract and bags full of money. (I added the last part).

Here's a prospect-focused KHL preview article from Hockey's Future... there are a few big names playing over there this year so it's worth keeping tabs on the KHL.
