Love it... lets keep the boards clean every night

Loved the return of the Jets last night, especially the old school boards with no ads... sweet.  The fans were not disappointed either as Mark Scheifele was the star with 2+2=4 and one of my favourite underrated prospects, Paul Postma, with 1+3=4.  Despite these performances, I think both are still longshots to make the team out of camp.

Dustin Byfuglien with the fantasy line of the night with 2A, plus-2 & 9 PIMs... whipping the fans into a frenzy with a fight in the first five seconds.

Jared Spurgeon with two goals last night for the Wild, this will certainly help his cause.  Very quietly he played in 53 games with the Wild last season and so he should have no trouble making the team this year.  Minny is in need of a dman or two to step up and take on some PP responsibilities and Spurgeon is a solid candidate.

Based on the highlights and reports (via Broad Street Hockey), undrafted college FA Matt Read was the Flyers best player last night even though he only had 1A.  I like this kid and called him the "Ultimate WTF Pick" in The Breakout Bible as most GMs in your league have likely never heard of this guy but he had great college numbers, made a smooth transition to the AHL last year (7+6=13 in 11 games) and has himself a one-way deal.

Sean Couturier with 1+1=2 in his NHL debut last night.

Not a bad night for Edmonton's Anton Lander with 1+1=2, plus-1, 4 PIMs & 5 shots in 20 minutes of ice-time.  Is there room on this team for another rookie???

The Coyotes & Ducks let it all out last night with the Yotes winning 7-4... Patrick O`Sullivan with 2+2=4 and Andy Miele with 1+2=3 to lead the way for PHX.  I had to look this up cause I couldn't remember if he was on a try-out but O'Sullivan actually has a contract with PHX (two-way deal), so he's fighting for a roster spot.

Blues prospect Evgeny Grachev with two goals last night for his new team but don't get your hopes up as I think he has a long way to go to make this team.

Niklas Hagman has vowed to have a bounceback year and he started it off right with two goals on six shots last night.  Another Flame that I'm not really a fan of, Mikael Backlund, looked good last night in the parts of the game I saw and he contributed a goal.

Dallas prospect Matt Fraser with a goal last night to keep his impressive preseason going.

Lightning coach Guy Boucher says he'll give Ryan Shannon a shot on a line with Stamkos & St.Louis... not bad work if you can get it.

Most of the cuts so far have been nobodies but here are a few notables:  Austin Watson (NSH), Mark Pysyk (BUF), Mark Stone (OTT) & Matt Puempel (OTT).
