We might have to start calling Mike Smith Mr.February as after 39/40 to beat Vancouver last night he finished with 11-0-0, 1.42 & .952 for the month.

A trio of points for Eric Staal last night to extend his point streak to nine games (7+9=16 & 34 shots). After starting the season with 4+6=10 in his first 24 games, he has been on a lengthy tear with 15+29=44 over his last 39 games.

Robin Lehner stopped all 32 shots he faced to skunk the big bad Bruins last night. That's back-to-back wins for him and you have to believe that he'll be given a string of games here with Anderson out. It's way too early to get into it but things could get awkward between he & Bishop as they battle for the backup role next season.

After getting a backhanded vote of confidence from his GM after he failed to acquire a goalie at the deadline, James Reimer made his GM look foolish by giving up five goals on 23 shots in a key game vs FLA last night. He has now given up 4+ goals in five of his last seven games.

Jonathan Bernier with a 26 save shutout of the Wild last night. That's nice and all but he is not likely to see much action from here on out as Darryl Sutter has never shied away from wearing out his #1 goalie.

Michal Neuvirth stopped 22 of 24 to beat the Islanders for his third straight win. It hasn't exactly been a murderer's row of opponents (NYI, TOR & MTL) but with the way his season has gone, he'll take it.

Points in three straight and 6+4=10 & 43 shots in his last 10 games for an awakening Alex Ovechkin.

No points in six games for Mike Green since returning from his groin injury.

26 save shutout of the Flyers last night was a good response by Antti Niemi to being our Breakdown of the Week last week.

A goal on four shots for Ray Whitney last night and he has at least a point in 14 of his last 15 games (5+14=19). He is tied for 20th in the league in points right now, not bad for a guy that a lot of you likely salvaged off the waiver wire.

A surprise performance from Niklas Kronwall with 1+2=3 against the CBJs last night... he came in with just two points in his prior 14 games.

A pair of assists for Dustin Brown last night and he has 4+3=7 & plus-5 during a three game streak following his name popping up in trade rumours.
