So this return wasn't as fruitful for Sidney Crosby as the first one, but he did get on the scoresheet. He had one assist, plus-3, and 1 shot in exactly 16 minutes of ice time. He was not credited with any hits. I watched this game and he seemed to be shying away from contact at all costs but I'm sure he was instructed to do that. He played the point on the PP and looked fine there, but I can't see it continuing. I'd imagine his ice time starts to creep over 20 minutes by the next game or two.

Second straight multi-point game for Carl Hagelin as he had a goal and an assist. At plus-23 in just 52 games, the rookie has really impressed.

Marian Gaborik made it four straight with a point and three straight with multiple points as he had a goal and an assist. He's a scorching 3+5=8 for the streak.

Gabby has to give a lot of thanks to Brad Richards, who made it five straight with a point last night (two assists). He has 5+5=10 for the streak as he tried to make his season look like that much less of a disappointment.

Jeff Skinner scored a goal on 6 shots and he continues his recent hot streak. He has 4+6=10, 18 PIM, plus-5, and 30 shots over his last 10 games.

Cam Ward with a strong performance as he made 40 saves en route to the shutout against a Blues team that might have been the hottest in the NHL. Too bad it marked only the third time he allowed less than 3 goals in his last 13 starts.

That's seven straight wins for Ilya Bryzgalov as he made 29 saves to beat the Islanders. Halfway through the third period it looked like he might be on his way to his fourth straight shutout but Michael Grabner ruined that.

Two apples for Mark Streit and he's on a modest three game point streak with four assists.

A shutout each for Martin Brodeur and Jean-Sebastien Giguere as the Devils and Avalanche played to a scoreless tie through regulation and OT before the Devs took the SOW.

First win in a month (six starts) for James Reimer and he looked very good stopping 34 of 35 for the win. It was his second consecutive start so the Maple Leafs may be handing him the reigns for the rest of the season to see what the kid's got.

Six goals allowed in a loss for Tim Thomas and the Bruins. He's getting worse as the season gets older (he'll be 38 next month) and his stats show it. Over his last seven games he's 2-4-0 with a .829 sv% and 4.28 gaa. I'd bet you didn't realize that it had gotten that ugly.

The three assists for Brian Campbell were a welcome sight for his owners as he had no goals and just one assists over his previous 7 games.

Goals in three straight games for the kid, Sven Baertschi. He also had three shots and two hits in just over 12 minutes of ice time.

Jarome Iginla with a goal to extend his point streak to 8 games and his goal streak to 6 games. He has 8+6=14 and 28 shots over the eight game streak.

Joe Thornton scored a powerplay goal to give him a three game point streak. He has 2+6=8 with 4 PPP over his last five games.
