The Sabres line of Tyler Ennis with Marcus Foligno & Drew Stafford is on point right now as they combined for 3+4=7 & 12 shots last night. Over the last five games Ennis & Stafford each have nine points and the surprising rookie Foligno has 5+2=7... not a bad way to start your career as he has only played in six NHL games so far!

Two PPGs for Alex Ovechkin last night and he has five goals in his last four games and is playing at a 50 goal pace over his last 20 games (12 goals). The biggest difference is that his shots are up, 4.20/gm over his last 20 games versus 3.65/gm previously.

The Leafs knew they were going to lose to the Bruins anyway (they always do), so why even put up a fight... eight-nil for Boston, 14 of 18 Bruins skaters had at least a point and Tim Thomas only had to stop 13 shots for the shutout.

Brian Rolston was da man for da B's as he had 1+3=4 & plus-4 and has 2+5=7 during a three game point streak... so dude isn't finished yet.

People are tracking Alexander Radulov as they would Santa Claus as he travels the globe... the latest is that he was on his way to Nashville via New York, should arrive sometime today. I'm guessing he' s probably not likely to play tonight, Thursday is a better bet.

Martin Havlat with another two points last night following up his two goals on Saturday.

Two assists for the Wings Brendan Smith last night, these were his first points in his last five games but it does seem as though the kid is getting comfortable.

Dustin Tokarski, James Reimer & Antti Niemi were all pulled from their respective games early last night, it happens to the best of them but it's been happening to these guys more frequently lately.

Tokarski is likely headed back to the minors as the Bolts signed Sebastien Caron out of the DEL (Germany) and assuming he clears waivers, he'll join them today. He posted a .932 sv% in Germany but I don't think I need to mention that the DEL is no NHL. If you need a goalie that is going to play then give Caron a look but I wouldn't expect anything special.

A nice evening for Bobby Ryan with 1+2=3, plus-3 & six shots... it's still been a disappointing season but Ryan has 4+6=10 over his last 10 games.

3A for Nick Bonino last night, those were his first points in his last 10 games but I think there is some future upside with this kid and Coach Bruce has made him a regular since he moved west. If Koivu leaves over the summer then Bonino could get a shot at the #2C role next season.

Assist, plus-2 & seven PIMs in another day at the office for Milan Lucic.

33 save shutout for Josh Harding last night... this was his first win since January 21st.

The Caps gave Braden Holtby the start in Detroit last night and he stopped 30 of 33 for the win. The five goals his teammates scored certainly doesn't hurt. I had assumed that Neuvirth would get a run of games while Vokoun is out but it looks like Holtby could be that guy.

Not sure what happened here but it appears Dmitry Orlov was a healthy scratch last night for the Caps.

Up from the AHL: David Savard & Allen York.

Heading to the AHL: Matt Hackett & Bobby Sanguinetti.
